Hermit, Team Sauerland sat down with Pavliks team and discussed the options, both Showtime and HBO were interested in the fight. Pavlik however opted to fight Bernard Hopkins and ever since, Sauerland has not heard word from Pavliks team. There were never any offers made from either team, but there were mutual agreement on a fight pre- Abraham-Miranda II. After Hopkins demolished Pavlik, both teams seem to have fallen out and Pavlik got injured.. but just before the injury Team Pavlik were looking to fight either Mora or Wright. Team Sauerland also wanted Winky Wright, but that never happened and here we are today. Surely, Sauerland does not need Pavlik to get Arthur recognized in the states anymore, the super six will do that just fine.
I thought Pavlik was looking for a fight, which ended up being Hopkins because AA was busy with a mandatory? No? Post Hopkins there was never any HBO money for a Pavlik fight. Remember what they offered for Pavlik/Sturm? If Pavlik wasn't fighting HBO's next would be 'house fighter' there wouldn't be much for him in his Williams fight either is my guess.
This its the saddest boxingthread for years.................. The threadstarter tries to give credit to promoters for giving the fans a great tournament. Everybody has to compromise. KALLE Sauerland, who got the idea to this, lets Abraham move up to 168, Kessler to go to US twice. I have given Saurland credit for this and been called a liar. Bigbone to be exact. I've pointed out how this is making HBO up their game to compete. Which of my comments do you consider pathetic? I have pointed out there is lots of upside potential to this tourny. I even pick your countryman Kessler to win? Just because I try and be realistic about things I'm pathetic? I just reviewed the thread and most of my comments were directed at asking people to back up what they said in terms of Saurland making offers to Pavlik for a fight when I have NEVER heard of them before. Can you find a post where I said this? I doubt it. I don't remember everything I've said but I'm pretty sure I never said that. And yes, there was a good reason Bute was not invited. And it isn't because he didn't deserve to be considered is it? It has been stated point blank that he was not invited. Can you give me a valid reason why he should not have been at least contacted to see if he was interested if the purpose was to have the BEST SIX at SMW? And what has AA done at SMW to show he belongs? Again, you call that biased thinking. I call it rational.
You have some nerve posting that garbage. Pavlik openly stated he doesn't give two shits about the tournament and thinks it's a "joke". Abraham is the one CONSTANTLY calling out Pavlik and getting turned down for the likes of Rubio and Rocket Lockett. Those two = Pavlik's Middleweight title reign. His next fight is against a blown up Welterweight while Abraham is in a tournament involving guys like Taylor, Froch, Dirrell and Ward. Not to forget other fighters like Bute, Andrade and Miranda being in the mix. You want to tell me that they were so scared of Pavlik yet aren't scared of ALL opponents I mentioned one weight division ABOVE? Pavlik isn't in the tournament because a 44 year old Bernard Hopkins made him look like a 90 year old so they used weight as an excuse and now he's back to "his" division. Pavlik never wanted in the tournament ANYWAY.

Abraham is fighting Pavlik's left overs, a green prospect, and Carl the clumsy. I will say that is a big step up compared to Ouma and Joval's left overs. Pavlik was not invited to Sauerland's party because stomping the **** out of AA would destroy the very foundation upon which the abraham mythology rests. Before the fight he said, Kessler wasn't worthy the fight and no legacy involed, and the right thing £/$ was to please US to fight Manfredo insted. Boxingfans demanded the Kessler vs. Calzaghe fight, but Josey Wales knew better, "being a boxing fans for years" !. Time will tell though - again ................ :bbb
