This can only be good for boxing IMAO. The cold war was ridiculous and was hurting the sport so much. First it was just the promoters but then also the cable networks. Add the fact that some fighters are less willing to take tough challenges compared to other ages and the sport was slowly dying.

Good news is that Scheafer still has a contract with GBP until 2018 which GBP will enforce, so sounds like they're going to continue to pay him as per the contract so he cant jump ship to a rival until after his contract is up.

Damn shame they couldn't work this out. Oscar is a fool for letting Schaefer go and it will come back to bite him in the ass down the road.

No compete clause isn't worth the paper that it's printed on. It won't hold up in court.

Haymon has the best GBP fighters.:deal This is a bad move for GBP he might as well try and merge with Top Rank because his stable is depleted.

Yes because of Oscar's lack of professionalism him being in rehab hurt their relationship. He wasn't fit to be the face of the company. Oscar should have realized this and checked his ego.

Just like people get pre-nups and they don't hold up either a lot of the time but people still get them. Some states have stricter non-compete clauses than others Cali has one of the softest.

I guess it all depends where the contract was signed. Remember Guerrero signed the contract in ny but tried to sue in California. The judge told them to go to ny and sue there

Haymon is their MANAGER/ADVISOR, Oscar is their PROMOTER
