Schaefer should just start his own promotional firm I hear he has a promoters license he is very close with Al Haymon & Mayweather and from what I hear most of the GBP fighers are on a fight to fight contract rather than long term so theoretically they are free agents minute the fight is over. As a alternative they could just jump to Lou Dibella but I'm not sure who he has running the day to day operations over there Then there is the issue of finding a network anybody know a network that would take a stab on boxing outside of Showtime and HBO that isn't ESPN that is going to be difficult
Those guys don't have long term deals signed to GBP more like one or two fight deals. Their loyalty is to Haymon not GBP.:deal
but it's been outlined multiple times in this thread that Haymon doesn't have a promotional license, so unless he works with the smaller promoters like Goosen, Shaw or Banner and many others, "his" fighters won't be getting fights anytime soon if they leave GBP
This is going to be the big question. How will Showtime handle this rift? Working with Oscar Exclusively? Working with Haymon/Schaeffer exclusively? That's going to be the interesting part of this.
if Arum and Oscar are working together, what will stop their co-promoted events appearing on HBO for example?
It will get worked out. PBF Schaefer and Haymon all knew this day was coming and you don't think they already have a plan?
Picture Al Haymon fighters fighting without Golden Boy Promotions involved? I guess they will be headlining Shobox cards with TMT fighters.
Still illegal if Haymon was involved in the plan. Haymon cannot be involved in any way in the promotion company.
