He's a great champion. Number 7 in my list. He was a two time featherweight champ, he beat Reagan when Corbett had vacated but was defeated by Sullivan. Then when he vacated he regained his championship beating Walsh and he held it for 6 long years until he lost to Kilbane (another great champion). He's said to have defended his championship 22 times. Which to put in comparison to today is unthinkable. At FW we currently have Lopez, Ramirez, Wood and Vargas all sharing a title claim. Imagine one man unifies all 4 belts out of those, and then stays as champion 6 years, and makes 22 defences. It just wouldn't happen. Because boxing now is shite.
