:good The last thirty seconds constituted the only time EITHER man landed ANYTHING. Therefore, Bute round.
Then how did you manage to have Katsidis winning last night ? Do you actually understand how to score a fight,or do you just make it up as you go along ?atsch
I give Samurai a pass on the Katsidis card. It's clearly he was rooting very hard for Mick, and his scoring may have reflected that in rewarding the aggressor. For me it was Burns 115-113 but he won his round far more dominantly than Katsidis edged his.
I remember that actually, thats one of the rounds I gave Johnson and also called it close. I tend to ignore the one big shot if a guy has lost 2 minutes and 45 seconds of the round. Just my opinion but I think its lazy scoring to just score for the guy who lands what appears to be the hardest shot. Little rant here, but I hate it when I hear Harold Lederman explaining that all you need to do to score a fight is look at who landed the best shot. Thats bull****. There are 4 seperate criteria to scoring a fight. Sometimes punches don't have to actually land clean to be effective. In that case, you get credit for effective aggression. i.e. If your workrate keeps a guy from throwing shots, even if you aren't landing, your aggression controlled the round. Either way, I'm not trying to start an argument about this fight. We all agree Johnson lost clearly.
I agree but Johnson wasn't landing anything , Bute had the control of the center of the ring even if Glenn was the agressor. Anyway we had the same card i think just a different way
IB.......do you love or hate ANY fighters.:think Your neutrality leads many of us to believe you are a CPU program. But seriously, a strong case could be made for a 115-113 Froch/GJ fight and a 118-110 Bute/GJ fight. A GJ lover, if there is such a thing, could literally give GJ a draw vs either. A Bute or Froch hater could as well.:-(
I've actually been accused of bias more time than I can count on ESB. :think (but it's usually from someone who's biased the other way and doesn't like what I had to say about something/someone )
It is, without question, Bute's best win, but I still think it's premature to start labeling him top 1 or 2. I personally don't think he beats Ward or Froch. and I think Froch knocks him out. Still, he has now proven himself and deserves to be talked about among the top super mids.
Since the S6 was postponed, Odds are Bute has 1 more smaller fight until a Ward-Froch winner showdown, Who should be next? Kessler Injured, Pavlik needs a warm up, Maybe DeGale or Groves lol, If Dirrell is ready maybe him.
I'm not sure how I see a Froch/Bute fight playing out. Thats an interesting fight, I'd prefer to see it to Ward/Froch honestly. It depends how Froch decided to fight I guess. Aggressive and come forward like versus Taylor? Or an unexpected boxing exhibition like against Abraham? Fun fight, IMO, vastly overrated Bute against underrated Froch? Good matchup. BOth guys are easy to hit. Both hit hard enough to make it fun but not a blowout. Both guys takes shots fairly well. Neither is a runner. Make it happen boxing.
NO WAY DIRREL fights Bute......NO F'N WAY. That would be suicide, and anyone who don't know it is a jock jockey. Same goes for Kessler and DeGale. But Groves would probably take the fight, but still it would be suicide. I think Bute needs to finish Allan Green. Send him packing and eliminate his name from among the crowd. Would be a sad night for his fans, but a decent stay busy fight for Bute and one final payday for Green. :deal
