Joshua Parker 9 10 9 10 Close 10 9 Close 10 9 9 10 very Close 9 10 9 10 10 9 9 10 9 10 10 9 10 9 113 115 Decent fight to watch and thought I’d finally get around to scoring this one as there was abit of controversy about it. Can’t believe I had Parker winning this and this comes from an AJ fan. First of all what the hell was the ref doing, what a disgrace that was from him, constantly breaking up the fight for no reason at all. But yea Parker did very well in keeping out of AJs range and boxing well on the outside and keeping especially of that right hand as I can’t remember AJ Landing a good right hand all night so good defense shown by Parker throughout as well as utilising that jab well to keep AJ at bay and hesitant to try throwing too much. Parker also did some very good bodywork throughout which in my opinion won him the closer rounds and swayed them his way. Parker also there’s some nice left hooks when AJ was comin in as well as some nice right hands to give AJ something to think about. But overall Parker showed good ring movement, nice defense, solid jab and boxing well on the outside. Whereas with AJ he seemed very hesitant throughout, rarely throwing that power right hand so that was weird honestly and it just felt like AJ underperformed honestly and just respected Parker way too much. AJ did show a nice jab and good ring iq throughout as he knew when to clinch and when to fight. AJ also did mange the range nicely at times keeping Parker at bay. But AJ could have throw some hooks and uppercuts when Parker was coming in tho so AJ could have done much more but didn’t but make the necessary adjustments to win this fight but overall I could see a 7-5 score to AJ at best for him but Parker was the slightly better fighter against the most cautious AJ I’ve seen. What scores did everyone else have and need some new fights to score so if people have any suggestions on what I should watch let me know.
Parker didn't do nearly enough to win this. I gave him round 2 and round 6 possibly 1 other but AJ won comfortably.
Honestly man yer should rewatch it if yer think Parker only won 3 rounds and keep an eye on the jabs and body shots alone that’s we’re landing nevermind the fact he was making AJ miss a lot as well as hesitant to throw, Parker also did the better work in the clinch as well before the ref would break them up. I’d suggest watching it again tho mate and rescoring the fight round by round.
I've watched the fight a couple of times already, I'm sure if I tried hard enough I could give him another round. AJ won comfortably, not just imo but in the opinion of the vast majority... Including Parker. The only reason I'd like a rematch is to see the fight with a better referee, if Parker can work his way back to a title fight I would like to see how that would play out.
Tabiti fayfer 9 10 9 10 9 10 Close 10 9 Close 10 9 10 9 10 9 Close 9 10 10 9 Close 10 9 10 9 10 8 116 111 Very boring to watch in all honesty. Felt like both had a very low workrate throughout and neither really settles that well into the fight but at the begging of it seemed like tabiti couldn’t get into the fight and get out of a 1st gear and this allowed fayfer to control the affairs and rough him up inside and landing some nice straights and left hooks which were getting through. Both showed a lack of head movement and decent defense but nothing great. As the fight went it on it seemed like tabiti adjusted well to fayfer more than fayfer to tabiti as tabiti started using the jab well to control the fight as well as blocking more of fayfers work and tabiti was Landing the flashier combos. But fayfer was Landing the better single shots such as the straight right which got to tabit as well as the occasional left and right hooks. Fayfer also did land the harder punches but as the felt wore it on it felt like tabiti was the more accurate fighter and started to manage the range well and make fayfer follow him around the ring rather than being cut him off which benefitted fayfer. Also fayfer clinched way too much throughout the fight I felt. But overall I felt that tabiti was always able to match what fayfer had and do that little bit more to win the majority of the rounds in the second half of the fight to win a close but fair unanimous decision in my eyes. Tabiti showed the better combos, nice jab, decent shot selection, good range managing, shot accuracy and able to drag fayfer into his sort of fight and this meant fayfer just continuously tries clinching. Fayfer landed the better and harder single shots as well as working well on the inside but being matched by tabiti at times and showed a higher workrate at more times in the fight but not by much which was poor. But honestly I could see a couple of rounds going to fayfer as I may have not seemed some of fayfer shots due to camera angles and that some of tabitis rounds could have gone fayfers way but I can’t see a fayfer win unless i was being slightly biased. starting to get through all of these and thanks for all these fights you’ve suggested @CST80 curious to know how you scored this one and how everyone else scored this one and if you have any fights more me to score then post them on here
I thought it was closer than the cards the ref was awful like calzaghe vs Hopkins its controversial and I wanna rewatch and score they are difficult fights to watch
thanks for the suggestion. Just watched it now Froch Kessler 10 9 Close 9 10 10 9 Close 10 9 10 9 9 10 9 10 9 10 10 9 10 9 Close 9 10 Close 10 9 Close 115 113 Great fight to watch and very competitive throughout. Both fighters showed great heart and chins throughout as both landed some bombs in this one. Felt like both had an extremely good and effective jab in keeping the other at bay and giving them something to think about when coming in. At the start it seemed like Kessler’s bodywork work and jab was slightly more accurate than frochs jab and headshots which meant that he edged some of the earlier rounds and then in 4 and 5 froch took control landing some big straight right hands and controlling the rounds with the jab and using his head movement well to keep Kessler from landing many significant shots. Then the next few rounds afterwards it seemed like Kessler had a second wind and frochs workrate had started to slow down as Kessler started mixing up the head and body shots to landing some good right hands of his own to back froch up and then in the final few rounds it became an all out war with both having thei moments but it seemed like froch was just getting the better of the exchanges stunning Kessler’s at times with the straight right and left hooks to finish the fight well but Kessler did land some great shots as well to make it a right ending. Overall I felt like froch displayed a great jab, great ring iq, good right hand, nice head movement as well as nice punch accuracy throughout but didn’t throw enough body shots as well as telegraphing his punches at times which Kessler’s could the counter from. Kessler also showed a great jab and nice 1-2 throughout, landed a lot of bodypunches, great punch accuracy and shot selection especially later on as he altered between the head and body to give froch more to think about. I have no problem with a Kessler close win of 7-5 and 8-4 at Best But I felt like froch landed the better and More eye catching punches at times to edge this fight put. What did everyone else have this at? If there’s anymore fights that’s I should score post them down below
Excellent scorecard. That's pretty much how I had it. Basically the only guys on the site that scored it for Parker or a draw, was myself, IB and Nonito Smoak. I've been bashed relentlessly for merely scoring the fight correctly, the way I saw it. Hopefully you don't get it as badly as I did.
No one besides @Dfaulds has questioned it so far Kinda surprised only 4 of us had Parker winning honestly
I missed this a few weeks ago, evidently I didn' get a tag aert, which seems to happen more and more frequently. they need to work that glitch out in the system. Anyway, I'll have to go look up my scores from the RBR's later, I know the general vicinity of my scorecards, but I like to be exact.
