i would have thought his training was good at brian hughes gym, maybe the sparring will be more varied, but if he gets his sparring to hard it can either dent your confidence, or put a hole in your punch resistance, i can think of one or two who have come back, with no noticable change, steve omeara was one.:think:good

not to say thats what caused it, but dunne s chin was less than concrete, hard sparring shortens careers, imo it needs to be limited to the least amount required.:good

It's great to see a young boxer take a sizeable chunk of their own cash and time to better themselves. Proves he's not just in it for money, is ambitious and wants to improve himself. It's positive to see a young up-and-coming boxer so keen to invest in their future.

Goes towards explaining the £4000 cost then if he's going out there mob-handed.

i agree with you on this one, too many boxers think having wars in sparring benifit their careers and it actually does the opposite. especially if your fighting in the style of ricky hatton or john duddy, your body can only take so much punishment so why take it in preperation.

quigg is more of a boxer then a brawler, will be vital for him to have tough sparring sessions to see if he is tough enough to move up in class because he hasnt been in a tough fight yet:good

I'd like to see Quigg step it up this year and hopefully he's got the goods to go all the way.

    :good

It's very clear that he is going to be one of the best super bantamweights in europe in the next 2 years, i think he has the talent to go all the way to world titles but i would like to see him in a few tough close fights
