In the Sun yesterday Warren mentioned that the Maidana fight will go to purse bids ''because the people involved didn't reach an agreement''.

That doesn't look like someone who is guiding the ship to me.

Khan is a free agent but would work with Warren for certain fights

If Khan has parted ways it doesnt suprise me in the slightest.

From day one i said to my mates that the minute he has a chance to, Khan would leave Warren, which is pretty stupid imo.

Khan has to many people speaking in his ear, i wonder what role Asif Vali is going to worm his way into now.

Yep, that sounds like Khans people coundn't come to terms with Maidanas people rather than Warren couldn't agree with Maidanas team.

Until Warren calls Khan a glass jawed journeyman I will still assume he is, in some way, still under his control.

There's been plenty of paydays already for Frank Warren. Khan has been selling tickets and had loadsof fights as main events on TV. I dont think many fighters understand how much hassle it is promoting fights mind you. Its different if you're in the Calzaghe/Hatton position of being at the end of your career and fighting maybe once a year or twice in 18 months against top names.

Warren probably tried to ge him to fight Maidana and Khan refused because he wants to fight JMM or get the call from Mayweather.

I think one area where Khan gets unfair criticism is that he hasn't faced punchers.

That's clearly true, but how many other Sports Network fighters faced more than the odd puncher?

What British fighters generally faced a fair % of punchers?

Bruno and Lewis obviously, Benn, Eubank, Watson..... Haye perhaps. Other than that you are struggling.

Hatton has faced his share, Tszyu, Pac, Urango, Floyd, even Maussa had a good shot on him if he got leverage

Intriguingly the first of those he faced was his last Warren fight

He has a big fan base, is popular and at the same time, some hate him and want him to lose. That's what gets butt's in the buckets, asses in the seats.
