Selby struggles to gauge range, his jab isn't solid enough and is more flicked then thrown. Simpson allows Selby to close the range so he can counter with compact hooks and right hands. Simpson needs to continue to throw close/short punches and Selby needs to maintain range and box off back foot IMO.

 

I know. He's been around donkey's years.

 

Please tell me this isn't going to be the pattern of the whole fight...

Close start to the fight. I think Simpson's the one landing the better punches but you could easily score both rounds to Selby because he looks more in control. I think Lee Selby won that round overall though. 1-1
