Simpson doesn't go down like that to nobody so either Selby is a real gem with power or John hadnt shrugged off the virus he had last month, maybe a bit of both.

    Great win for Selby.

That's it for Simpson, said before the fight do or die. I don't see him dropping to SBW i think he'll pack it in.

I was talking Selby up pre Smith, some people were saying Smith was a future world champ.

Selby slipped under the radar as he is a young Welsh kid with little fanfare, I do think he can make moves at European but that's probably his limit.

Should rematch Smith to prove it was no fluke, fight Lindsay. Maybe by that time Joe Murray would be ready for a British title? Just checked and Joe's had 11 fights and tonight was Selby's 13th! That'd be a great domestic fight between two up and coming fighters.

He's only 24 years old, hasn't gone beyond 8 rounds yet. Just needs to get some experience and then he can fight for that Euro title.

Some Belgian guy who lost an 8 rounder to Paul Truscott is the current Euro champ :think

Selby's not even the best fighter in his own gaff.

Good win though-expected Simpson to win.

Hope not, he's still a good domestic level fighter and if he has the hunger he can come again IMO.

If he has packed it in it's been a pleasure to watch him over the years.

I remember a few lads saying he ain't easy cos everyone said who's Selby before Smith fight. Smith's no way world class not even potential for me just never ever seen the hype with Huggies Stephen.

Selby's got power even when he doesn't sit on punches, he's got to be managed well and Borg needs to stop him from loading up and use his range more rather then looking for peach shots which may not come at higher level.

BTW if Lindsay is sharp he'd be the hardest fight for Selby domestically from a stylistic POV.

Hopefully Selby returns on the Cleverly undercard, it makes sense. He should either go for the European or make a defence of his British Title against the kid that took his unbeaten record.

I'd like to see a Smith rematch but it's not necessary. Selby was winning clearly before the KO, it's not like he was being dominated and then landed a flukey shot.

Wouldn't be so quick to write Simpson off in two fights Selby has taken out the top two in Britain and in good fashion. Can see selby re matching Smith and maybe pushing on a bit. Simpson can still have a good career at british level especially if he drops down didn't look the bigger man to me tonight and got pushed about a bit.

Agree with this not just as a Lindsay fan but he has the tools to go against Selby will give him a good go but on current form Selby beats him.

Bit surprised with how poorly he has been managed so far by Frank, Lindsay was being chased by a few promoters I remember and based on the appleby card you would think he would put a few cards on in Belfast with him.

TBH Selby beat **** out of Smith, it was a sickening display really was. I was impressed that night that's why i never really felt comfortable with making a pick. Done a Johnny Nelson and parked my backside on fence. I think early on Simpson felt the strength and he was being slowly hurt to body and head.
