I think Khan vs Malignaggi could be an option. Both without an opponent, Golden Boy reluctant to make Malignaggi vs Maidana.

What would be the point, theirs nothing to suggest that the result would differ from the first fight.

 

The point would be that Khan would become a 2 weight world champion.

 

If Khan can outbox Maidana then so can Paulie who certainly takes a better shot than Khan! Maidana is crude, he can only win if you get into a slug out with him and Paulie is not going to do that given his KO record!

Khan is stuck now, Garcia doesn't want to rematch him, to "clean up at 140" he will probably have to fight Matthyse who he will be desperate to stay away from. The only fight that makes sense for him is Peterson and I think that's what we'll get now he has signed to GBP.

Yeah Sacrifice Promotions will have no problem turning Peterson over to Khan, would much prefer to see them fight other people.

If the rematch does happen I hope Peterson wins, he really deserved the first fight despite all of Khans 'hat man' BS.

 

He's not stuck. He just has to wait for Garcia to beat Judah (whilst feasting on a safe opponent himself), and GBP will set-up their rematch in the fall. Schaefer has said as much. Matthysse, the poor fella', will be left out of the equation in the mean time. Khan won't ever be forced to face him in the near future.

Oh, and I doubt Peterson will be matched with him. He presents too much of a risk and Khan, I don't think, fancies giving the cheat a payday. Garcia-Khan II, because of the hype and money it'll generate, is everyone's priority.

Garcia has already come out and said he will fight Matthyse and isn't scared of him, if he beats Judah he is going to be under a lot of pressure to fight Matthyse and re-matching Khan is surely going to be pretty far down the list of most peoples preferred fight for him at 140?

If Khan fights another nobody he can't even really claim to deserve a rematch against Garcia, and even if he gets one, people seem to take it as a given that Khan was unlucky the first time and would definitely box Garcia to a decision the second time, which is no foregone conclusion at all.

If Khan wants to fight Garcia before Matthyse he should have to fight Peterson with the winner getting the winner of Judah/Garcia. No way he should take another LW opponent up to LWW and then get his rematch his straight away.
