Attempting to write off the best resume of any prime active fighter and compare it to Qawi’s filler. It’s entertaining.

Kovalev ruined his legacy vs Alvarez. Similar to RJJ, who kept getting KOed left and right instead of retiring.

Neither legacy is ruined nor are they comparable. Only ruined amongst fair weather fans who's opinions won't even matter down the road

So getting KOed by light punches 20 times in a row doesn't ruin your legacy.

If it happens in your prime sure. If it happens in year 12 after you've successfully gone from 154 to heavyweight then no. Not even a little bit

What do you consider Prime Franklin? Coz imo he was smack bang in the centre of it for the Johnson fights, which he found himself on the ropes consistently. Same with the Lopez rematch (I haven't seen the first, as I can't find it on YouTube). He was slightly past it for the Martin fight imo but either way he spent 70% of the fight on the ropes!
He was certainly capable of delivering one! Lord knows Sutherland and Kates found out the hard way! As I said, I disagree with your assessment of Saad, I think he let people ware themselves out before searching for KO, he was more patient than he had to be imo. If he wasn't, I doubt Johnson (both of them actually), Martin, Bright and Sutherland would've lasted as long as they did.

I can't see it going that early, lesser men went longer with both, but I don't disagree that EMM at his best wins by KO.

I do love Saad but I think that Kov beats him, I do however question what happens if Saad lands big.
Also, sorry I took so long, I didn't realise you replied.

People tend to overrate fighters from the past, because of respect and general tendency of people saying in the past was everything better. And how many of you watched all meaningfull fights of every top 40 fighter from LHW to make your "100% accurate" claims? At the end of the day discussion like this is just a verbal masturbation. Of course you can say he isnt in top 10 or 20, but saying he isnt in top 30 or 40 you need to have a memory of Kim Peek and like i said remember all fights and analyse opposition of every top 40 fighter.

Head to head at his peak he matches well against anyone. His decline was very rapid though. And I mean RAPID.....

    Tarver and Johnson were ancient.

The Pascal that kovalev beat would have beat both of them.

Hopkins DID beat both of them and lost 1-2 rounds against those 2 combined

    Do you disagree?

I'm not sure about how I feel about kovalevs body of work and all time status.

But the guy was absolutely menacing at his peak and showed very few of the vulnerabilities that are obviously plaguing him now.

I've come to realize nothing is more pointless than all time rankings.

Rank who you want, where you want. It's not like even the most educated fight fan among us has seen even 10% of the world caliber fights out there, and there's enough grey area in the context to fill an ocean.

Im not out to attack your opinion in any way shape or form, but curiously, how do you have Kovalev above Michalczewski?

Im surprised you could have Dariusz behind so many others

    Basically I prefer Kova's resume.
Ward > Hill imo, then the rest of Kova's resume is better than Shevski's imo.

Although as shown in the thread, my list isn't perfect (and probably going to change)
