Sergio Martinez can NOT beat Floyd Mayweather

He is slow, he does not have a particularly impressive skill set, he's not a big puncher at all, and he spends half of his fights with his hands on his hips.


Explain to me how he wins more than 4 rounds against Money May.

 

Bigger, southpaw style hurts Floyd's shoulder roll defense, fast hands/feet, good skills.

 

Hands low + being off balance + the highest accuracy in the sport = :think

 

Bigger, great chin, almost matches him in speed, power, angles, stamina, heart, foot speed to match the hand speed.

This is the only guy that beats PBF below 160. Everyone else PBF should beat.

 

Sergio Martinez is NOWHERE CLOSE to as fast as Floyd. That is ridiculous.

 

He's pretty fast. I would say not as fast as Floyd, but nowhere close is a ridiculous statement in my eyes.

 

dont think anybody close to mayweathers weight class can beat floyd. Unless theres a vast physical mismatch, i dont see floyd ever being troubled. Manny has a shot coz of his work rate and weird punching angles.

Apart from him maybe paul williams? High work rate VERY tall, heart of a lion aswel.
I dont think floyd vs martinez would be very competitive tbh.

Would rather see floyd vs pac or floyd vs williams

 

I can see Pacquiao troubling Floyd because of his speed, power and awkward style. I can maybe see Williams troubling him because he is just a gigantic freak of nature, although a bit sloppy and lumbering. Both also have great workrates which will be a boon in a fight against Money.


I don't see Sergio bringing ANYTHING to the table that will trouble Floyd aside from being a southpaw.

 

This could be Mayweather's moment where he overreaches, which really is the only way Money loses sadly. He puts himself against a top fighter (not a fading De La Hoya) in a weight class he isn't natural for. This goes especially bad if at 160, but I Money is smart. He'll take LMW so it ends in a tight fight that he argue he won if he loses.

 

I stopped reading right here. Martinez has some of the best handspeed at 154 or 160.:deal WTF are you talking about?

 

WTF he is no where near as fast as Mayweather.

Martinez has some good tools but none that match up well. His size gives him a competitive cahnce but I see him getting beat.

I'm a fan of Martinez, but I find it hilarious how much of an edge *****s are giving Martinez over Mayweather.

Martinez is a great fighter, but let's not forget, although he technically beat Cintron, he still wasn't exactly a walk in the park for him, nor Williams(whom I believe he also beat).

Martinez isn't exactly a pressure fighter, nor do I think he possesses the tools to beat Floyd Mayweather.

Don't get me wrong, I think it'll be a highly entertaining fight that could ultimately go either way, but I'd definitely give a bigger edge to Mayweather. I think he'll adapt fairly well.

 

Martinez is solid but he'll likely get outclassed, unless the weight turns out to be a big factor.

Floyd needs to fight Pacquiao before he even thinks about him.

 

I still think PBF will win but I didn't say it would be easy like I did for the Shane and Hatton and Pac would be that's the difference. Stylistically Martinez matches up better with PBF than those three did thus my caution when mentioning Martinez.
