Would've preferred Mayweather, Margarito or Williams but it seems all have different plans and Wright & Mosley are the biggest names around. But both are high risk low reward at the moment as both suffered a decisive loss lately in bad style match-ups and both would do a lot better vs. a very different fighter in Martinez. Damn, I'd still love Floyd-Maravilla but that fight never was realistic.

Exactly:deal I thought williams would be an obvious choice for martinez.
Especially now when he's free and available.

MOsley has a great chance at beating Martinez. Martinez isn't a real boxer like Floyd, if you cut the ring off and take away the lead hooks, he is there for the taking. I would rather not see Martinez make the fight though, because he has business to settle with Paul, any fight outside of a Mayweather fight is an outright ducking of PWill.

what's Williams other plan? A rematch with Cintron? Do you really think HBO would show much interest in putting up more money for that? I'm sure they'd put over a nice fee for Williams-Martinez 2.

I dont want to see him face winky because I fully believe winky of 5 years ago would have decisioned him easy but today he will loose and as others have said he lost badly to PW who martinez already beat in many people's eyes.

Mosley is a better fight as I think he is better than winky today but still I am not digging it much.

Thats ****ing lame that he wont even consider floyd. We know floyd really wants Pac for the money but if that doesnt happen Floyd-Martinez is a great fight and Martinez is being a ***** about it and wont even say point blank he wants that fight.

Martinez-Williams is the best fight for either guy. Martinez won't get Mayweather or Pacquaio and Margarito isn't going to agree to fight him as long as he has a shot at a Pacquaio bout. Considering his options these fights are probably the best fights Martinez can make since Pavlik decided to move up. Mosley and Winky are good fighters who have seen better days but both will earn Martinez a nice payday in fights he is going to be a solid favorite in. Basically 160 is now barren and 154 doesn't offer the paydays that Winky or Mosley will. I'm not sure why Wiliiams isn't next but if its not than these two fights make sense for Martinez.

Winky has simply been too inactive to beat Martinez. He will make it competitive but Martinez wins a decision in a less than exciting fight. Winky needs a quick tune up or two but I doubt he takes one. Mosley would make Martinez work but he's not beating Martinez at this point in his career. Again, good fights for Martinez but Martinez-Williams is the fight we want.

actually IDK about wright-martinez. My first opinion is to say wright doesnt have it anymore but as a fan I have to hope that he can have one last big win. And he doesnt seem like the type to keep on fighting into his 40s like some of the others.

I think it comes down to can he get his timing back, his timing against williams was poor and he missed williams a lot, his defense was still great blocking 80% of his shots. I dont see winky getting seriously hurt or anything so why not lets see if he can do it. Martinez is a good matchup for him at this point, better than someone large physically like pavlik.

I think Wright can actually beat Martinez. Martinez is far easier to time and provides less pressure , so Winky would actually be able to be in the fight, as opposed to the P-Will fight.

Damn, you would think that after that big win they would line up something better than that....Wright hasn't won in over 3 years and Mosley just got dominated in a fight...rematch with Williams is the fight people want to see.

Horrible news. Martinez would beat the **** out of both of them. Winky hasnt done anything in years to deserve a shot at the middleweight champ
