Over at the scene maravilla was asked about his injuries and had an extensive reply

It has not been easy to train with his injuries, he struggles with joint pains knee pains and shoulder pains

Without his physical therapist he would have probably retired

He trains 6 days a week 8 hrs a day so he is in constant pain

Some days hes so sore he cant walk but he pushes himself to be the best because he knows he is not a natural boxer

Truth? Bait? Excuses? Hmmm we shall see soon

hes hasn't got long left. He came to the top of the game late and I cant see him being here much longer. I think he might just be able to see of Cotto in a close one but after that I can only see him declining.

He will beat the sh** out of Cotto, but this is more towards Golovkin.

For me this is all irrelevant. DIdn't he say he would win by a ko and it wouldnt last more than 9 rounds? Save the excuses. You shouldnt have signed the dotted line.

At no point dopes he say, he wont knock Cotto silly.

Hes just saying he'll be in pain as he beats Cotto around the ring....thats all.

I am saying it in more of a retrospect. If he loses I do not care to hear the excuses. He is planting the seed.

Pain or no pain, Cotto will get decimated.
But it looks like we're not going to see the Golovkin fight.

Its a pity there are no ban-up-to-date English language done by a good interviewer with Sergio. We only hear people talking about him, second and third hand info.
Perhaps his injuries are not that bad today, maybe all that pain etc was in the past? Wishful thinking I know, but I would like his current state of health clarified once and for all.
Love Sergio - I crossed the Atlantic to see him fight, he is a great champion no doubt. He will hammer Cotto.

Fight GGG or retire. I could give a **** about his injuries..... If they are that bad, hang them up. Stop holding the title hostage.

He's fighting soon so he's not holding anything hostage. The man is clearly past his prime and is looking to cash out before doing so, he earned this position.

    I like GGG, but disagree.

Ducking is when you should or have to fight someone, yet do not. Martinez is TOTALLY on his way out, so he can do w/e he wants.

He is probably not healthy enough to fight GGG anyway, so if he does fight him, it's to get paid and pass the torch. I would argue he has too much pride to do that.

He's duckin GGG because he won't make as much money fighting GGG as he would fighting Cotto. Let's be real people, when boxers duck other fighters, generally it's a business decision, not because they are "afraid."

There's a Martinez Media Call going on right now, which Top Rank is live Tweeting. A few statements from Sergio and Lou DiBella on his current condition :
