Serious Itauma question

    6'4 and 240 plus pounds is a damned big ol unit to try and assist from the ring on unsteady legs, his body looked like it nigh on shut down at fight end, so common sense is he would be going to hospital post fight anyway, there was ambulance crew in attendance, so get him on the stretcher, into ambulance and off for hospital to check him over.

    That is my take on it anyway.

    I don’t see fighters commonly, or even more frequently, carried out on stretchers these days.

    If it were common, we’d be able to name many recent examples.

    I have no idea how they conveyed him onto the stretcher but they had to physically lift him to get him on a stool with someone holding him upright. There’s video of that. Usually even an exhausted fighter can at least sit or stand on their own once they have take a few minutes after to recover. Doesn’t seem to be the case here.

    Hard to draw pleasant conclusions, this being the case. As much as I admired his performance, will that end up being his peak? Some beatings like that end prospects, huh?
