Only guy I’m arguing with is one who said anyone who disagreed with him had never been to a boxing gym and never been around boxing. Which is horse hockey.

Youve posted more than once. Dont try to roll that back by pretending you didnt take your argument further than your first post.

I believe you may be confusing this thread and the one comparing SRR and Greb. Perhaps not. I haven’t visited this thread since the post that the other guy responded to until I got an alert that he responded. I had to go back through several pages of posts to find the one he was quoting.

    Now, two things:

    1) How do you think Greb looks IN THIS CLIP? Not his resume, not from your research — you’re a fight film collector with a discerning eye, I’m not asking you to make any conclusions of how great he is (he’s obviously an ATG) ... but based only on this, how do you think he looks?

    2) What do you take issue with that I’ve posted?

No, he didn’t answer my two questions. He basicaly said of the only film we have of Greb “he may be doing this, he may be doing that.”

So he starts with “don’t project” and then he projects excuses for how the guy looks. I just want an honest evaluation without guesses as to if he fought that way or not: what does the greatest living expert on Harry Greb think about this snippet of Greb actually doing something in a training setting think about what he looks like — without projecting excuses as to what he might be doing. Just a simple, direct evaluation of what Greb looks like on this film ... which is to say, the topic of this thread.

That didnt answer either of my two questions.

I wonder if Greb fought like Porter.

Maxie Rosenbloom? A High punch volume / durable type who had a weak punch for his weight?

There's isn't much film on Rosenbloom either, I think. Hmmm....

He talked about going 20 rounds. Did Greb??? Most middles today are much taller and hit much harder. Greg could have been great in the 1920's, but maybe that type of fighting would not translate as well today as rules today tolerate less hitting / holding / and fouls. Its been forever since I saw a very short middle with no power cleaning up. Just saying...

I think some of the ND fights ( Greb's time when they did not allow a decision ) were not hard contests. Instead we get their newspapers battling it out for who won.

They keep their right elbows up when they throw punches. Pat M's boys would obliterate them.

Ezzard Charles sometimes raised his right arm while jabbing. Wouldn't stand a chance against Pat M's lads.
