Seriously, Floyd doesnt perform as well against pressure fighters (Castillo, Maidana and Cotto somewhat). Margarito is the epitome of a pressure fighter. *****s in about 3,2,1...

Margarito would have been outboxed for the fist 7 or 8 rounds then Floyd would start breaking down, his counters would have had no effect on Tony. Tony by late KO.

Last night's Floyd? Yes. Prime Margarito would probably give last night's Floyd more than fits. He probably would've beaten him.

However, prime Margarito didn't belong in a ring with the contemporary version - or any version up through Maidana I, really.

I've been saying that for years.

Floyd made a very calculated duck against Margarito. The Mayweather's aren't stupid.

They know which guys can give them signficant problems, so they destroy their character and shamelessly duck them.

Mayweather's day of reckoning is coming though. It's coming as soon as he signs that dotted line to fight Pacquaio.

They should label that fight, "REDEMPTION...AT LAST"

Margarito didn't give Mosley any fits. Why would he give Floyd fits again? Oh that's right without concrete gloves Margarito lost EVERY significant fight.

Yes. Notice how mayweather was getting eaten up inside by Maidana and needs to hold and clinch and rely on Bayless to separate Maidans off him. In Margarito, you would have a bigger fighter who have 3x Maidana's work rate. There's a reason why floyd ducked him.

Margarito would happily uppercut the **** out of a clinching Mayweather.

Margarito would have been humiliated by any version of Mayweather.

Yet he got KTFO by old man Mosley. The cheat is dudu. Of course you like him because you gravitate towards cheats like Madonna, Pacroid and Margarito.

    This is largely true.

But Floyd never fancied the risk.

He probably din't need to worry re: Marg.

    But he did.

I said this years ago - Margarito would have given Floyd hell. Heck even if he just gets outpunched by Floyd, Floyd brittle little hands would have given up at some point.

Seriously, Margarito couldn't even touch Mosley who was nowhere near as slick or quick on his feet as Mayweather. This fight would just be Mayweather-Baldomir II and everyone would be calling Margarito a bum afterwards.

No he wouldn't have. Margarito is even more crude of a puncher than Maidana is, and he is slower also. Floyd would see Margarito's slow moving, wide looping shots with no problem. Floyd for Margarito would look worse than the first 6 rounds of the Cotto vs Margarito fights. Floyd could do it for 12 rounds.
