well,as a subscriber,, if they do go down it will be exciting switching on the radio at early am again. the good old days!!!
Last time I tuned into live boxing on the wireless was McGuigan versus LaPorte, exciting fight it was too...
Thats the only option I have, plus some shows on Setanta doiwn the club at 10pm. I'm really disappointed that the Haye fight is off. I have to say, Setanta had some good coverage. I'd be happy to scrap the disney channel mix on Sky for a Boxing mix of the old Setanta variety! :blurp
Ahh yes i cant wait to listen to boxing on the radio again :rasta. Serious if Setanta goes down along with the Football, Cricket, UFC but mainly boxing (the reason why i par for it) it would be pure crap.
No, as far as I remember it was repeated the next morning on BBC, Jim Nealy did the radio commentary, if I remember right. In fact, I remember a lot of McGuigan fights being repeated the next morning on BBC, I think.
I'm still hoping that this is just being blown out of proportion and behind the scenes Setanta have a grip on it.
wow, thats a good exciting radio listen,, mine was lewis v mcall 1, still couldn't work out what had happened for a few mins...too much commentator shouting!!-
yeah, the whole haye thing is a real sting in the tail for such a promising build-up,havn't been so disapointed for a long time!. call me a conspiracy theorist but,the last two big setanta shows to be "off" smells a bit of something to do with their bad financial situation? yes,i know the blood test thing (chagaev) and the injured back thing (haye) are great genuine reasons and all that but, seems to coincide nicely with not having any money or future for setanta.
I'll be honest, and I'll get a lot of **** for this, but I'm not suprised......in the slightest. Setanta, whilst their coverage was second to none in the UK were shambolic in the way they were run. Also, they didn't quite have the power or presentation of a SKY. It looks as if it's all over for them, I hope SKY pick up their coverage in Setanta's absence, even if some of it is PPV. I won't be too sad to see the back of Setanta.
TBH I really grew to like the "seat of the pants" presentation of the live fights, it made a nice change from Piper and Nelson....
