THe Only trouble with setanta will it be live coverage or delayed, like the sugar shane mosely v miguel cotto fight. That is my only query!
I am not really fussed if its delayed by 15 minutes. You will find that most "live programmes" coming from the states such as Boxing, American Football, Wrestling have at least a 3 minute delay. And there are many other causes of delay, my sky in my bedroom is 1 minute behind that of my living room. Its not an issue to me anyway. Its better than them not showing it at all isn't it, just don't listen to the bloody radio at the same time or come on here and it won't get spoiled.
Very impressive line up from Setanta. It looks like Sky will only have Witter fights and domestic fights now.
They will have Haye when he is not on Sports Network shows, Witter and Froch who should become World Champion next year. Also Hatton so they still have the biggest names domesticly apart from Calzaghe. You can add whoever Cotto, DLH, Margorito fight next to that list as well. Plus Hopkins vs Calzaghe and all other future Sports Network shows excluding Khan and Fight Academy (clinton woods). We should have a decent fight on every week on Setanta including double bills. If we get Vasquez vs Marquez III i will be jumping for joy! Would of been nice to see the Paul Williams fight to, am i getting greedy???
not really arsed about the 15 to 30 minute delay. just means you have to stay offline while watching the fight. great line-up...if sky didn't show a lot of football, i'd be cancelling them! in fact, i might cancel SS2 and just keep SS1 for the premiership and domestic fights
Spinks, Chag Vs Skelton, Maskaev Vs Peter, Haye V Mac and Marquez I look forward to watching. I am most pleased I will be getting to watch Heavyweights again.
Yeh when was the last time we saw a Heavyweight title fight on tv................i think it might be Williams vs Klitshcko you know!
Not good news at all. I, like a lot of you, pay 37 quid a month to Sky just for the boxing. Instead of trying to compete with Setanta's sterling effort, it would seem they're just withdrawing further from the sport. Very unsatisfactory from a subscription TV company with 4 dedicated sports channels (1, 2, 3, Extra), especially in light of the fact boxing has recently been enjoying its highest profile in a long time.
Amazing stuff. Certainly a major player when it comes to screening boxing. ITV nor Sky have any sort of monopoly.
