And Campbell did beat Diaz...but he also has lost to Robby FREAKING Peden (which should honestly be his nickname...LOL) not once, but twice. As well as many, MANY performances where he just "didnt show up"...not the makeup of that top ten p4p fighter if ya ask me.
P4P #1, you understand me my man? Put that on record, a Bernard victory over Calzaghe, or hell, even taking Calzaghe close, places him either P4P #1 and in the event of a competitive loss, P4P top 12 in the very least. Right now, I have Bernard somewhere around 15-17 in the top 20.
Campbell is a fine example of why a conservative approach to p4p rankings is generally superior. He can move right up the rankings, still, to a top 20/25 slot whilst allowing the other rankings to continue meaning what they mean - and should he fail to solidify, he can be removed without causing upset.
Yeah man, but he's been keeping his level up lately. Arguably beat Casa back then also. I thought he clearly, clearly beat Isaac Hylatschwayo also. You don't brutalise a consensus top 12, and in many cases, a majority top 10 P4P unified champ and not get in the discussion. He also ****ing killed the Kid Diamond guy and has shown better poise and determination lately. Give it a thought. And give me a break for being a Campbell fan!:nut Tell you what, against Diaz, maybe this is only one time, but he was a SUPERNATURAL.
01 Floyd Mayweather Junior (USA) 02 Manny Pacquiao (Phillipines) 03 Joe Calzaghe (Wales) 04 Miguel Cotto (Puerto Rico) 05 Juan Manuel Marquez (Mexico) 06 David Haye (England) 07 Israel Vasquez (Mexico) 08 Christian Mijares (Mexico) 09 Joan Guzman (Dominican) 10 Chris John (Indonesia) 11 Ivan Calderon (Puerto Rico) 12 Rafael Marquez (Mexico) 13 Mikkel Kessler (Denmark) 14 Chad Dawson (USA) 15 Bernard Hopkins (USA) 16 Kelly Pavlik (USA) 17 Jermain Taylor (USA) 18 Wladimir Klitschko (Russia) 19 Nate Campbell (USA) 20 Ricky Hatton (England) 21 Juan Diaz (USA) 22 Winky Wright (USA) 23 Fernando Montiel (Mexico) 24 Junior Witter (England) 25 Oscar De La Hoya (USA) **** getting influenced by others. P4P lists are subjective, and as such, everyones criteria is different. I say, 'what have you done in your weight class against what opposition, how good are you in that weight class, is that you natural weight class or are you flying above your weight'? *I realisde the Haye one will be a bit high for some, but hey, ive been following him for near on 5 years now, I truly believe he is the second coming of satan
So basically you are telling me that if Calzaghe beats Hopkins in the way that my insane Calzaghe Mafia crew is blabbering on about, that he'll be the greatest fighter post-Roy Jones?:think You guys are making my day here.
ABOVE. Sorry, but dominating Tarver after jumping up to LHW is still better than anything Hatton has done since the Tszyu win. The Tszyu win was good, placed Hatton in the top P4P, but the near loss to Collazo, **** performance against Urango, average performance against a half dead Castillo, despite it ending in KO, he looked awful prior and then getting KTFO out against Joy Boy... How can ****ing Hatton be above Hopkins? Hopkins is sporting what SHOULD have been two victories against Jermain taylor, then a total domination in the way of a 119-109 score against Tarver, then an overrated, but solid 117-111 against a blown up Wright. H2H, Hopkins current at 175, versus the 147 and 140 versions of Hatton, who do you think wins? Hopkins, easy. Hatton ain't going to outrough house Hops and Hops will easily win a wide UD or even a KTFO, if they were the same size. I don't even have Hatton in the top 20. Scored Collazo 7-5 for Collazo, look at how he was against Urango and Castillo, then getting KTFO. **** off people with this Ricky Hatton bull****. Hopkins even if you scored for Taylor, two competitive bouts with a top 25, then Tarver, a top 30 at the time I guess and then Wright, a top 15 on a fair scale. Am I wrong?
I think that if Calzaghe beats Hopkins in the manner you describe he would make my 100, all time. After that, gravy.
Where's Bernard in your top 100? I think Joe beating Hopkins like I say should jump him up to the same basic level as Hopkins.
