I don't want to see Mosley vs. Pac but please do tell me what's wrong with "in-house" fights? Also tell me when was the last time Floyd fought a non-GBP fighter. Hell, when was the last time Juan Manuel Marquez fought a non-GBP fighter outside of Pacquiao?
A major reason Shane struggled, is because, he was in there with an unorthodox guy who outweighed him by damn near 20 lbs...if my memory serves me correctly.
Seems like Shane just can't let the game go. He wants to be a fighter, instead of retiring to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Who really knows though. He might just need the bread. Top Rank may get him the fights he's been seeking with Cotto, Margarito, and maybe Pacquiao. But, he should understand, the goal for Arum would, probably, be to build THEIR legacies up...not his. Winky Wright went over to Top Rank too, hoping for more opportunities...and we have not heard from this cat, since. I hope Shane knows what he's doing.
If this is true, then I can see why he's doing it. He's been trying to get a fight with Manny for some time now. Being that top rank fighters tend to fight in house the majority of the time. This might be the only way he's gonna get a shot at Manny.
Good move for Shane. There is really nothing GBP can offer him except for Canelo. Atleast with TR Mosely has Pac,Vanes,Clottey, Margo, Cotto, Foreman, JCCjr. and others. If Mosley isnt worried about legacy and just wants to get paid he will get paid with TR.
That would be true if GBP restricted their talent to in-house match-ups. That isn't the case. You frequently see GBP co-promoted events pitting their guys against other stables. Granted, they're usually mismatches in the GBP fighter's favor, but still...:yep
