I would take what people say with a pinch of salt to be honest, truth be told, if they got the chance to meet Briggs, they would probably want their photo taken with him, or they would kiss his ass big time.


In most instances its harder to find more positive things to say than negative, only some people done try it seems.

 

I've never said anything against the guy personally - I just don't think he's a very good fighter. The thing that really gets on my nerves is the asthma excuse.

Here's a tip Shannon - if you don't want to be ridiculed, don't proclaim yourself "the greatest of all times", better than Ali and Robinson because "I did it with a disease".

Briggs is a good guy, likeable. Good career, very good career. Hey, just think of all the hwt busts who petered out - it's tough to even make top 10 - but to stay in the sport so long and win a belt, good job by Briggs. The only thing that bothers about Briggs is he talked a lot of negative nasty BS about the Klitschkos. Went a lil over board. Other than that, much respect too Shannon Briggs.

He's just about beligerent enough to hunt folks like me down and actually give me a kicking too ( and then tell me how much money he's got ! )

 

The article was in boxing news. He comes across as a very good man. My hope is that he is in shape against Vtali , as he does have to power to upset. But is this just a paycheck at the end of a career of 'could have beens?' Last time he was in shape came in under 230 was against Lewis , since then his weight has balloon to over 270. If he can come in somewhere around 240 and move then I think he might surprise a few people. But generally talk is cheap he comes in 20lbs overweight and gets stopped.

 

Agree with that. I actually think it's a shame if he thinks that noone here @ ESB takes him seriously or even likes him, because that's just not the case.

But he has to understand the gassing out thing after 3 rounds is always going to follow him around.

 

One of the guys on here has the screen name "KO byBRIGGS". He's got some ESB love alright.
