I really dont trust Briggs in fantasy fights but Miller isn't anything special I figure Briggs should be able to box him
I think Shannon Briggs is a prime example of 90s heavyweight nostalgia blinding analysis. He lost to journeymen like Sedreck Fields and low-level contenders like Darroll Wilson. He arguably should have lost to Botha but got a draw and then picked up a robbery win over an ancient George Foreman. His two best legitimate wins are Liakhovich and the corpse of Ray Mercer. Honestly, he makes Miller’s resume look like Muhammad Ali’s. Miller has proven he has one of the best chins in the heavyweight division right now. Look at all his fights, even post-PED suspension. Dubois, a proven hard puncher, took 12 rounds to stop him, landing hundreds of clean shots, and Miller was still standing and had never been knocked down in his career. So what makes most people think Briggs can knock Miller out? Briggs would probably gas before he could stop him, given his awful stamina. People are also focusing too much on current Miller. Before his suspension, he was 300 pounds and still had speed for a heavyweight, great punch variety, surprisingly good mobility, and great stamina. He was basically an immovable object. Miller likely wins off the gas tank alone. Watch his 12-round fight with Johann Duhaupas, then compare it to Briggs, who fades badly in the second half of fights. Please watch Miller's run between 2017 and 2018 before you pretend to know what you are talking about. Also, both of these guys abused PEDs, so don't say Miller's prime in this matchup is invalid. Miller by KO/TKO
Loving this fight it would be a slobberknocker. Leaning towards Briggs, but, as some have pointed out, Miller has the chin and the stamina. So its either Briggs by gruesome blowout early or Miller by slow relentless slapdown late.
If Miller was better I do not think Miller has gotten or will get the opportunities to prove that. Briggs won a round against peak Lennox Lewis and gave him a little scare and Millers not going to be in that spot. Briggs won his 2nd HW title by a hail mary KO in the 12th round. Briggs doesn't have a lot of competitive 2nd half fights so I dont see how Briggs stamina is an exploitable weakness here in a fight Briggs is otherwise winning. The problem for Briggs in his losses was that usually he wasn't winning. Miller is not exactly the peak of physical fitness here.
