Les 'Lock n Load' Sherrington is set to fight the durable and somewhat crazy Esteban Ponce. This Argentinian has a similar fight record to Les and is younger then the WBO World Rated No. 8. Ponce has made no secret of the fact that he has his sights set on securing the number 8 position with the WBO. Ponce stated "I'm stronger, younger, faster and better looking than your fighter and he is the on...e that's going to give me the ranking I'm owed". An interesting response to fighting Sherrington. Let's hope he does a little more homework between now and March, as I know Les and no body questions his look, let alone his fighting ability! Ponce is coming to Australia for a rude shock!!!!! ..... I have only had the opportunity to see les fight 2 times and both were on tv . He looked really good in both one was a demolition of Jamie guy who had previously beat him and the other was with Shannon Taylor where he looked awesome . I see on his record he beat Nader hamdan on points , which is a great win . His last few fights to me look to be big steps backward from hamdan . Why not try put him in with some decent Aussie middles ? There is plenty around Bryant , fletcher , even Pittman in a rematch , if he decides to fight at middle again . These are the fights he needs not fights with average argies and blown up lightweights . It looked like he was heading in the right direction fighting guys like hamdan , now it looks like he's just like most other aussie fighters fighting **** imports .
..the plan is to try and move up the WBO rankings and get a crack at that title..this fight is what it is..a stay busy fight to practise some new skills..Lez and his team want the big fights too don't worry..:good
Cool sounds good and like they have a plan in hunting for a who tittle shot . Only problem is fighting at this level when he gets his shot at quillan he will get hurt . That's if he ever even gets a shot don't forget dimitry pirog is still there as well .
Will this fight with the Argie move him up the ranks ? Or purely just keep him busy ? If it is a stay busy fight , why not fight an Aussie ? Seems like a big waste of money bringing an import over when there is half a dozen better Aussie fighters he could face .
