Im a white guy. I am also a former boxer. I know what I see. Shields is going to humiliate Marshall. Possibly to the point of frustration and quitting on her stool. Marshall is tall and slow. I was not impressed by her technical boxing, at all. Shes gonna be hitting gloves a lot and missing a lot while being peppered with counters. If Marshall wants to keep her title she has to come up with some excuse not to fight.
I am riding with Shields on this one. She is just the better all around boxer and fighter. Marshall has a punchers chance but thats about it.
watch the ringside interview, Shields can mouth off all she likes but Marshall was completely relaxed and confident while stood nose to nose with her. More than that, Shields was the one who stepped back and when she did Marshall stepped to her again then Shields yielded again. That’s very very telling body language, especially in such a confrontational stand off between two future combatants. empty vessels make the most noise Shields doesn’t really believe she can win
Flat footed, shorter, not enough power to make Marshall respect her All of this equals disaster If you’re shorter and flat footed, you have to have at least respectable power, otherwise you’re just a sitting duck against a taller more powerful opponent who knows how to use their reach
Shield's lack of power is really striking. Watch the first and last rounds of her fights- she's dominated every round and hit her opponents with hundreds of her best shots for 20 minutes and they come out for the final round little less fresh than the first. It is literally no exaggeration to say that 20 seconds of Marshall's full-bloodied shots have more effect than 20 minutes of Shields'.
Shields won't let Marshall play her regular game, Shields is slick, fast and powerful (although the forum claims the opposite). She will win almost all of the rounds and even may KO Marshall if she is on a good day. We'll see what happens.
Comfort yourself with those thoughts. Don’t worry it won’t be song before Shields spanks Marshall’s ass.
"Cross Your Feet For More Natural Fluid Movement" If you're stepping across to your left, your left leg should be moving first and your right leg following it. This (rear foot crossed all the the way over behind your lead foot) is not supposed to happen at any point — try it yourself and tell me how solid a base you have and how "fluid" you feel in that moment. It's technically bad/incorrect footwork. Any fighter has habits/flaws that should have and haven't been coached out of them, but seeing clown YouTube analysts touting said habits/flaws as high-level maneuvers is pure cringe. Video = a mix of pretentiously overthought bunk and banal observation on par with Al Bernstein's 'keys to victory'.
