Aoki is becoming the new Nick Diaz , overwhelming impressive wins against nobody's ............. thats not a critisism its pretty much a fact Aoki should really join the UFC now , there's nobody that DREAM can match him with that raises any eye brows If he mans up they could make Aoki Gomi on the Japan card , that would be a marketable fight despite Gomi's in different form
You have to realize that he has thoroughly cleared Japan's 155 division over the last few years, guys like Kawajiri, Hansen, JZ, Alvarez, Hirota are all acomplished fighters in their own right in a fairly deep 155 in Japan. I will be the first to say that his last two opponents were sub-par but you cannot look over that fact that he has just beat everyone noteworthy, He is coming to Bellator next year to give Alvarez a rematch so hopefully he decides to stay
Alvarez has improved alot since Aoki beat him , Gil Melendez beat him to within an inch of his life , Alvarez whilst a solid LW would be middle of the range in the UFC's LW division at best :deal , and he is Aoki's signature win Aoki is not testing himself with the very best in the world , thats a fact , im not saying there's anything wrong with what Aoki's doing , he's earning some good money whilst getting accolades , and he's looked outstanding along the way , so why not join the UFC ?? :huh
I disagree on your dismissing Aoki via the Melendez fight, but this is not the point. Aoki is known for continuing to take challenges throughout his career, and this is really why I do see him coming to the UFC at some point.
