    Round 1

Godfrey pushes Kayode back with his right jab. Godfrey is bossing him with it for the first twenty seconds, until Kayode ducks in and lands an uppercut to the chest. Clinch. They remain gummed together with invisible adhesive, both doing some sloppy work while stuck. Uppercut to the body by Kayode as Godfrey stays atop him. Not much clean punching happening. Godfrey grabs his torso under the arms. Kayode tries to club away. Godfrey lands a groping right hand to the jaw before clinching again. Jabs into the guard by Kayode, and a hard right hand that is blocked but still affects Godfrey a little. Godfrey partially lands a right hook and left hand combo as Kayode is opening up. Godfrey circles to his left, and slips some jabs. Godfrey looks smooth. BUT THEN, he pays. Right hand drops him as he lingers by the ropes.

    :conf

    10-8 Kayode

I figured Godfrey would just be too rusty and kayote would just be strong enough to beat him.

So far Kayote is really showing his power early.

    Round 2

Kayode is throwing jabs level with his shoulder and following with sinking torpedo rights. Godfrey lands a nice right hook stepping inside. Godfrey slips a pair of wild power shots leaning back as he shuffles out of the pocket. Godfrey gets caught by a right. For every 6-7 shots Godfrey is slipping nicely he is eating a big one that negates all that good work. Right jab outside by Godfrey. Left hand to the body. Kayode misses his own body shot. They parry jabs. Clinch, head bump (noses crash together). Kayode tries to light up Godfrey on the ropes but can't find him as the Rhode Island man curls into a ball. Hard right to the jaw by Godfrey.

    10-9 MG

    19-18 Kayode

Godfrey is like Paulie Malignaggi minus the upper body movement and footwork.

    Round 3

Godfrey out-jabs Kayode on the outside and falls in with left uppercuts before flopping and grabbing. Kayode is loading up on big right hands to the body and not reaching. Godfrey stumbles into the ropes from one, maybe could have been ruled a KD but wasn't. Godfrey is now more careful, staying well outside. Godfrey jabs and moves. Kayode pushes him into a corner and grabs him, holding with the left and smashing with his right about a dozen times unanswered as Godfrey just blinks it off and rides it out until the break. Light 1-2 to the face by Godfrey. Long right jabs by Godfrey, pecking at Kayode. Godfrey loops a left hand over the top of the head as Kayode ducks down. Again Kayode grabs and bludgeons with his free hand.

    29-27 Kayode

Not a good vibe in Godfrey's corner.

The guy who's taken over the bulk of head coach duties for Peter Manfredo Sr. is basically just browbeating him for not countering or avoiding right hands.
