Machida? He was a dead body after Jones was done with him....

I like him the best out of the 4. I really enjoy Machida's fighting style.

And in case you hadn't noticed, all 4 of these guys have already been massacred by Jones. At least Machida was competitive for a round, which is something none of the others can say.

True, but I want to see Shogun in with Jones again since Shogun was in pretty bad shape in the last one. I'm not a Shogun nuthugger or anything but the past has shown that Shogun after layoffs and injuries is usually pretty far from his in-shape self.

    I would rather Machida.

    Winner gets a title shot*

*If winner is Shogun, and the victory is an impressive KO they can show over and over on a countdown show
    .

How the hell could you sell a Brandon Vera title shot?

Honestly, I just think this is UFC's third attempt at finally saying goodbye to Vera for good. Nobody's giving Vera a chance in hell.
That's the only way I can rationalize this. Honestly he hasn't looked good since 2006, even his victories afterwards have not impressed.
As a fellow countryman of Vera's, I can only wish him the best, and hope for a comeback, but realistically this is not looking good for him.

True - but Machida is also the ONLY fighter that may have even won a round against Jones over the past year.

Well if that doesn't warrant a title shot I don't know what does....

Well, assuming that Jones beats Hendo in dominant fashion, then in less than 2 years he'll pretty much have beaten the top 5 challengers in the division while losing maybe one round between them.

Gustafsson is still green and needs a signature win.

    Davis was outclassed by Rashad.

    So who else is left?

It's not like Jones is doing a Frankie Edgar style "spend three years fighting two guys" run. He's fighting very frequently and taking the best possible challenges. He's just cleaned out a very competitive division ridiculously quickly. :conf

So one of four guys that Jones already smashed gets the next title shot? That ought to be fun.

The obvious choice. Shogun looked like ass in a fight that he should have been totally dominant in. I say give Shogun to Gus. If Gus wins, then he has a big name under his belt, if he loses, you can give Shogun a title shot.
