I think he intentionally didn't sit on his punches that much in this fight. He has sat on his punches in other fights and shown more one punch power. He realized Byrd is fast, tricky and durable and the best thing to do was to wear him down, which he did.

    From Chris Byrd interview:

When do you plan on fighting again?

CB: No time soon, my ribs need to heal.

    Why did you not box?

CB: I hit him with some great body shots, and he would take a few steps back, knuckle up and come out again. I noticed this during the fight, that's the mark of a champion.

From Povetkin interview, he said that he tried to time a good single shot during the first 5 rounds, found it hard to get through Byrd's defense as Byrd was covering up well, and decided to regroup and just throw more leather at him, and it worked.

From what I see, Povetkin's head is his best weapon. And not as in headbutting. :)

In what way, exactly? Because he didn't stop him in Ike Ibeabuchi fashion? People are expecting more of the man than what there is.

And what does it take? An appearance of a gay fashion model?

If it was because some idiot who didn't see it is accusing it of being a bad decision then yes. Povetkin won clearly according to anyone who isn't a fool.

?:blood you can keep your gay thoughts duuude!

povetkin is nothing special IMO, nothing to do with who byrd fought in the past. povetkin looked slow, fat and his punches were not as sharp as seen against lower ranked opposition in the past.

i think it's that weird hoe who's feeding him pre-fight

Looked slow? Punches not sharp? He was intentionally not sitting down on his punches all the way against a much more experienced and hard to hit opponent. Look at the speed that he throws his hooks and uppercuts with on the inside. He looked fat? Guess what-that's just his phyiscal appearance. He obviously had good enough stamina, as he was still going strong in the 11th round. If you want to judge people based on their appearance, watch bodybuilding; how you look means jack in a ring.

i think the standard of heavyweight boxing has really dropped for people to consider this kid to be something. he looks like the type of victim of one of tysons best ko video's, along with the current heavyweight champtions.

You're a ******. Looks "fitter"? Povetkin was still throwing combos and begining to put mustard on them in the 11th ****ing round of his 14th professional fight. Because he doesn't run around with a 6 pack and huge arms though he's not fit, huh?

I hope Byrd made some big money in this fight. I don't like to see him take that kind of punishment, and I'm sorry he has his family witness these blowouts. Povetkin kind of reminds me of Brock, a little busier. He may give Wlad problems from the 10th round on. Can he take that signature straight right? Dunno.
