Whilst I don't necessarily disagree... It's still extremely weak to quit whilst there's still a chance to win, and he's got enough power to have a punchers chance (and IMHO that's all he ever had). More than one of Usyks former opponents has said he's mentally exhausting to fight, Bellew in particular has made a big deal of that on more than one occasion - it's a huge challenge that Dubois hasn't faced anything like before... at the same time, it still shows a mental weakness to not want to hang in there while you still have a chance.
Yeah and now they play the victim card, so he can get away with criticism and that he quit. But still he is so so young and can have a great career. I really want to see him against AJ, Ruiz, Wilder, Fury, Joyce rematch, Zhang, Hrgovic, etc, etc.
He was dominated and lost every round and was beaten up and bullied and knocked out/made to quit by an aged past prime inactive much smaller CW. His only real moment was a low blow which he and his team haven't stopped crying baba tears about ever since and are desperately trying to make out cost him the fight even though he got thoroughly outclassed, beaten up and bullied, and then dropped x 2 and made to quit. If he and his team don't shut up with this ridiculous and embarrassing campaign of theirs to get the decision overturned, Usyk stripped, and a totally undeserved rematch the only thing he will deserve is ridicule and abuse which his promoter and trainer already thoroughly deserve in abundance.
He negated any praise he wouldhave had from me once he took that knee and quit, again! No dog, No respect!!
Different points of contact & velocity / perceived potency of punches sure; However, Both waited it out to get up a second after being counted out at 10 forcing the Ref to stop it…. A way out = quit job.
I rate Daniel Dubois as a British level heavyweight at best. I'm not sure if he beats Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora or even Frazier Clarke tbh. He's a very low level guy. That being the case, he was up against an ATG, I thought he did "OK". My prediction was a stoppage inside 6 and him not landing a glove on usyk, he made it past 6 and landed a couple of alright shots. For the level Dubois is he did OK. If you expected anything more it's because you lack understanding of boxing.
The fact of the matter is DuBois has been hyped aggressively by the UK press as well as many US pundits. Just a few years ago he was the next big thing in the HW division. The fact that Usyk dominated him says much more about Usyk than it does about DuBois.
This is getting carried away, the bookies gave Dubois a similar chance against Usyk as they are giving Ngannou against Fury, and I agreed with that assessment. Dubois is pretty poo
Not sure what we are supposed to praise about that performance. He didn't win a round, was completely out classed and you can't even say he took his licks, dug deep and lasted to the final bell. I guess he at least didn't hit the canvas 3 times in the first round like last time, so I guess that's an improvement, lol. Dubois may not even be gatekeeper level as he's only ever beaten journeymen or untested guys like Lerena. Guys like Takam and Chisora in their primes probably beat Dubois, even now they might by ultra competitive until the old guys gas out, or maybe they take Dubois too deep and he folds again. The only thing that I can say is impressive is that Warren ever got Dubois a title and a shot at the unified champion in Usyk. That's like having David Price in your stable and getting him a shot at Wlad.
There should be no reason not to throw Dubois in with one of the top HWs in the world next seeing as he should be the rightful unified champion according to Fish-eyed Frank and his media/boxing media lackeys who are dutifully doing their best to aid him in this ridiculous and embarrassing cringe campaign for ''justice.'' But why do I get the impression we'll be seeing him in with some janitor or hasbeen who Frank will talk up like they're still in their prime or had a ''decent win'' after a string of losses? Just like how he shamelessly talks up 0-0-0 rank novice in boxing Ngannou and talked up a third fight with Chisora who they derided as washed up and Belly's sloppy seconds when Usyk beat him And how after ''almost beating'' a well past prime old Kovalev who Tunde and Yarde claim was ''Fighter of The Year which whilst technically true is extremely disingenuous because that was way back in 2014 when he was in is prime not in 2019 when they fought him which was after already turning down two separate shots at him years earlier. No Big Frank threw Yarde in with a 4-48-3 tomato can and then domestic level Dec Spelman. Now who is Big Frank throwing Yarde in with after coming so close to beating a 38 y/o Beterbiev but in reality was just competitive and won a few rounds before getting knocked senseless again. A top 10 LHW? A top 20 one or even close? No chance. Domestic level Ricky Summers.
110% percent. He did really well considering his very little experience. At least he and his team had a game plan.
I can’t disagree with this assessment of DDD after his last few performances. However, he legit hurt BRUTHA USKY in that fifth round, something chisora/ Joshua level guys were unable to do in 36 rounds combined. this implies two things to me 1 Dubois has elite power, and by extension Joyce Zhang II is an important fight for the division. All eyes on the winner for a shot at Wilder/Fury. 2 USKY will not be able to live with fury’s size and strength nor Wilders touch of death. Too cruiser too fragile. I pick both the top dogs to beat up and stop the little feather fisted midget. Fury punches holes through him, and wilder touches him once and it’s lights out. USKY is not difficult to land on, just ask fifteen losses delboy chisora. Joshua will find a way to lose against anyone in the top thirty at this point which is why his team will continue to DUCK them all.
