AJ is going to fight Fury twice, unless Bootleg D manages to beat Fury that is and I'm expecting some skullduggery to take place there from Team Bootleg D in order for them to try and make that happen. E-Hearn and Matchroom are going to be praying Chisora can take Usyk out of the equation so Team Usyk need to make sure they're on top of everything and that they don't allow them to pull any funny business regarding ring size. Usyk is going to fight for the WBO regardless, unless like I said Bootleg D beats Fury and if that happens we'll likely see Fury vs Bootleg D IV over in the US because D's testicles are toddler-sized and AJ vs Usyk providing the later gets past Chisora. But even if AJ relinquishes the WBO and Usyk wins it it's not like Usyk isn't going to be looking to fight either Fury or AJ ASAP after they've finished their business with each other and he'll do so in their backyard too because he's a real man and he won't be holding the belt hostage on a bum of the month tour in his homeland like D will.
How exactly will vacating the belt make the fight come sooner. Don’t both of them have two fights in between?
It is not that I don't agree that Fury is preeminent right now...I do. But let's give Joshua some respect. If not Joshua, then.. Povetkin? Respectable fight but no one would think Alexander had a chance. Hunter? Same as Povetkin. Usyk? Unproven. I think he is great but Fury said there is no money there. Whyte? He has to redeem himself and then some. Ruiz? He needs to lose 50 pounds and put a string of wins together. Parker? He is fighting Fa level guys these days. Chisora? No one wants to see a trilogy here. Martin? Helenius? Ortiz? No one wants to see these fights. Miller? Kownacki? Both are currently disgraced. Joshua is not "irrelevant" because there literally is no one one deck that he can make any money off of. Maybe Povetkin. Maybe Wlad comes back. Probably Joshua is the only game in town.
If holding that belt restricts Joshua from fighting Fury, you can bet your last penny AJ will guard it with his life.
Selling it as a unification would add a lot. Should ONLY be dumped if it restricts the fight. In the early 2000's, the WBO was almost un-unifyable. Shouldn't be a roadblock today.
