No need to retire but sadly I think we know that the British & Euro Level was his ceiling credit to him for taking the fight.

Hank Lundy,Richard abril,Miguel vasquez, Demarco,Ricky burns, kevin mitchell, John Molina, Linares, acosta, antillion, Soto
you think murray has a chance at any of these guys, i'm not so sure

  8. No.

What the rios fight showed was that his defence needs much improvement, and that he is a much better fighter at mid range than in close brawling than a lot of people thought.
There is plenty to improve and work on, but getting beaten by one of the top lightweights is not a reason to retire

I'm from the U.S. Saw Murray's name in the media once or twice before the bout, but hadn't seen him. Figured he'd be a piece-a-cake ta showcase Rios.

Murray's no piece-a-cake. Ya better pack your lunch whenya glove-up with him. He's 100% Lionheart.

Don't see why he should, Rios outweighed him by some 12lbs on the scales, an absolute joke! Not saying the result would have been any different but the cards were so heavily stacked against him whatever small chance Murray may have had went out of the window. ****** should have secured Murray a follow-up bout for the vacant title as a condition for the Rios fight going ahead:deal

The U.S fighters are pushing the weight making to extremes, i would say that with the weight making nowledge and experience gained from Kerry Kays, Murray will have been as tight at the weight as could be considered safe and leave enough in him to recover as good as possible by fight time, Rios was much bigger, though clearly without his full zest in fight. The punching power of the bigger man won, his size also negated johns power. I feel a rest and euro level for a couple more yrs, then pick the right belt holder and maybe in U.K he may juuust pull it of. THEN RETIRE.

needs a good break than come back. needs to stay away from the very top level though because blocking punches with your face just dosen't work at that level
