:-( Revisionist claptrap. :deal But its Christmas, so if it makes you feel better, just carry on. In the round before the STOPPAGE, Vit was hung all over Lewis like a cheap, drunken *****....his face was ****ed, and so was he. The cuts saved Vit from a savage beating
ALright, you seem pretty sure. I'll look at it again. Not even a yes with the head? I was almost sure. ANyway, i'm no part of "Oscar's a quiter" gang. That was pointless to continu.
I completely agree that it was pointless to continue. The fight NEEDED to be stopped even before it was. It was sad to see them let to go as long as they did. However, people all of the sudden using this fight being stopped as a reason to call Oscar a quitter is pathetic. The round earlier Nacho said himself that he told Oscar he was going to stop the fight, and Oscar asked for another round. Oscar clearly didn't do any better in that round, and everyone in the world knew that fight was going to be stopped. In the corner, you could hear his corner pleading with him over and over about stopping the fight. Tell him they were stopping it, that it was best, he was too fast, ect... Then you can hear the corner telling the ref that he was stopping the fight. Oscar finally stopped disagreeing with them. Somehow... that makes Oscar a quitter. Amazing.
Its ridiculous to try to demean ODLH by calling him a quitter....he didn't quit, he was completely spent
Exactly. I just watched it again. Oscar said yes (with his head). I knew i didn't created that. But, i agree totally with you. NO need to disrespect the guy or call him a quitter.
oscar was in a complete one sided beatbown andprob weak as hell from being drained...the fight was over...so all the keyboard warriors who think they could absorb half the beating he did have t it...and i am not a odlh fan
I don't usually disagree with money mayweather fans but that is not the ****ing point....he could not go on...u don't promote deaths in the sport...u try n prevent them
Oscar actually didn't do that slight nod with his head (if it even was a nod) until after Nacho told the ref he was stopping it. It was sort of an "alright, it's ok, it's over" type of recognition. Oscar never said yes, or nodded yes to actually stop the fight. The translater said "yes" in the ring, because he was translating someone else saying "yes". The camera was on Oscar and he wasn't saying anything, or nodding at all. He was sort of disconnected.
All of this really doesn't matter... even if Oscar had said Yes, go ahead and stop the fight after two entire rounds of his corner telling him that they were stopping wouldn't be called quitting. Oscar coming over after the round and saying "I quit" would be quitting... or saying something like "No mas" in the middle of the ring. Fighters should NEVER be called quitters for knowing when to stop in the middle of a beating. That is called being SMART. Quitters are guys who quit out of frustration, or people who mentally break down because of a tough fight and either do something to be DQ'd, or quit. A fighter looking out for the rest of his life because he is taking a one sided beating in a non-competitive fight, is NOT a quitter. I have watched tragedies in the ring, and any who has would give anything for them to be able to turn back the clock and have that fighter take matters into his own hands if the ref and corner aren't man enough to stop the fight. Should Gerald McClellan have been considered a quitter if he had quit a round or so earlier and saved himself? This sport isn't some game... this can be life and death.
Oscar was seriously hurt. You are saying that a fighter who has never been cornered in any one fight of his life finally put in a corner is not hurt? That is the most hurt Oscar I have ever seen in my life. Oscar would have gone down in the next round had he gone down at all. If not then that was the danger of letting the fight continue because Pac sure as hell did have power at 147 and Oscar, great chin or not, had nothing left.
