Kelly starts out boxing in every fight, minus his fight with Miranda. (Bullying him was his strategy from the get go.) He's a plodder, looking to wear you down in order to setup the big right hand. Kelly defensive skills have improved tremendously. He will at times leave a lazy jb out there where you can come over the top. But once he is told about, he starts throwing it with more conviction and brings it straight back. I thought AA looked good or really showed just how bad Miranda really is. I still think AA is too defensive, which will play right into Kelly's hand.
Will Kelly have extra security in the house for AA's brother or you think his brother will not be making the trip?
Pavlik is not that better when it comes to defense either, though he knows how to hold on and buy time when he's hurt as it was shown against Taylor. Though it was more Taylor's fault than Pavlik in my opinion since he got tired and didn't follow up with more bombs and gave Pavlik enough time to recover, even after the round you could see Pavlik still dazed. Against Miranda Pavlik was hurt in the 3rd round but again Miranda ran out of gas nailing him with bombs so Pavlik's clear advantage here is his insane ability to take punishment and still not be totally out, he can still see and react decent enough to buy time considering his opponent runs out of gas punching him and still not doing a huge difference. Abraham's advantage here is his stamina, the man can throw some serious bombs and take it all the way to the 12th, he can TKO late if he gets the chance to do it and Pavlik has only gone the full distance once and was really tired late in that fight as well.
AA will look to counter punch and against someone like Pavlik it won't be too difficult to succeed there since Pavlik is one-dimensional and too predictable. He's going to stalk and be the first trying to land with Abraham waiting to counter, Pavlik has no other option/style, Abraham does.
to tell the truth I think that the KD that he suffered in that taylor fight motivated him to concentrate way more on defense in the gym and in the next 2 years we will see the fruitss of that I know nothing really too much of abraham heard some good things though
Don't expect to see Pavlik switching into a defensive fighter, the man spent is career fighting the way he does, don't expect him to totally change that at this stage, just doesn't make sense in my opinion. Abraham is very good when it comes to defense, very underrated there as well, has great stamina(carries power till the 12th), has an iron chin(got caught with his mouth open leaning downwards welcoming Miranda's uppercut and still didn't go down), serious power and awesome skills. This is a fight that MUST happen.
I still don't see Abraham's power? Miranda seems like a ruined fighter after the Pavlik beating. He didn't take much punishment at all before he went down.
It was not the punishment it was good placement of a haymaker. I give AA that. But he really cant box, if he tried to box Pavlik he would get his ass handed to him. He would have no choice but to try to counter Pavlik with something crazy. Pavlik is better then Miranda at seeing punches coming and he is three times as accurate at placing his shots. He would be able to get through Abrahams guard one way or another.
He took two solid shots that hurt him in the third round and I doubt he has been totally ruined from the Pavlik fight, that loss definitely affects him but doesn't mean this recent KO by Abraham is because of the Pavlik fight. It's not like Miranda wasn't hurt before fighting Pavlik, he was dropped by Green, hurt BADLY by Eastman and rocked/stunned numerous times against Abraham in the first fight and that's not mentioning other fights just the recent. Miranda always had problems taking punches, this is hardly new if you know anything about him. Also, Abraham is well known for his power when he committs to it, got serious power in both hands but that doesn't mean all his fights should end in KO, styles make fights.
Abraham can be too confusing at times and is hardly one-dimensional like Pavlik. His counters and big punches just come unexpectedly and Pavlik doesn't have any great defense to avoid that. Doubt Abraham will only rely on boxing, he has other options, he can counter, box when needed, move and trade when necessary. Pavlik has one option and that is to trade and rely on a hayemaker, this is going to be Pavlik's most difficult challenge. If this goes the distance then it's Abraham's fight.
Now you are drunk. For one thing Pavlik does not even have to be in AA punching range to get off his straight powerful shots like his jab and right hand. Another thing AA cant really box and he leaps in the air and throws off the wall amateurish hooks though they are powerful as all haymakers. Pavliks output and accuracy would nullify AA and win rounds easily as AA has shown the same tendency to just shell up and try to haymaker counter. AA only option in this fight is to knock Pavlik out. Pavlik is not no ****ing slugger, AA is.. lol Pavlik throws nothing but straight punches and works everything behind his jab. If that is not boxing I dont know what is. :rofl
You think Abraham only throws those wide hooks as hayemakers and you're calling ME drunk? A part of being a good boxer is not being predictable and that's something Pavlik isn't, he is way too predictable with his lefts and rights, you think that'll be more confusing or Abraham's style?. Pavlik also lacks movement, Abraham doesn't. You think Abraham doesn't have a jab as well?, if not then you haven't seen enough of him yet. Abraham can land some stiff solid straight punches that could be powerful enough to rock or back Pavlik off, he can also counter, throw serious body punches, move and has the chin to afford making mistakes if he does make any. Pavlik relies on ONE thing here and that is stalking and landing bombs, yes all his bombs come right after a few jabs but those jabs are merely setups to hayemakers coming right after them, doesn't sound too predictable for someone that can "box"?. Pavlik is a brawler NOT a boxer, he has one style, a boxer can adapt when needed, move..etc, Pavlik can't and doesn't, he'll keep coming forward whether he's being hurt by Abraham's punches or not. Abraham is a brawler no doubt but he can also adapt and play defensive when he needs to, Pavlik doesn't.
Abraham 5'10 Pavlik 6'2 with that in mind, Pavlik can be aggresive, but only with the jab. He needs to stay away from any form of brawling(not a problem with kelly so far in his career). However, ''box'' is a fairly loose term, one would have to specify.
Pavlik will box. He is a smart fighter, I haven't seen him really brawl yet, he keeps his distance for the most part and uses his strengths to his advantage.
