He had the option to weigh as high as 147 but cut the extra weight.

You're right. When there is already an agreement to contracted weight, a boxer is bound to honor it. He can no longer choose the weight he wants.

So without confusion this is called "Catchweight fight within the WW limit" and the title could be put on the line...This had happened before so this is not new...:good

 

I never said it was wrong. But having a title that is based from 141-147 on the line for a fight that is only 141-145 is not right.

 

He loses that option because he is bound by a contract that stipulates the weight he should come in at official weigh in. But he can rehydrate to any weight he wants after the weigh in.

 

And that is what I disagree with, the titles should not be on the line.
