    Looking back on it, he punched Lemieux when he took a knee in the fifth round. So should he been disqualified by the referee. 4:09

    Point deduction is the normal procedure. There's no direct disqualification even when it is deliberate, cause then it's 2 points. Unless the opponent is (or acts to be, like Dirrell) unable to continue, in which case it's either a DQ or a NC depending on the rules in place and the circumstances.
    If that would warrant disqualification, then Tyson would have quite a number of DQ losses on his resume before ever getting a title shot.
    And he wouldn't be the only big name either.

    Nah, it was CLEARLY a heat of the moment thing (like punching after the bell during a flurry/heated exchange). Golovkin was apologetic.
