C level? Bika and Miranda are very evenly matched; both can win a great fight...Is Miranda C level? Bika is better ranked at SMW than Miranda, by the way!

Eh... I don't know. I really like Sakio Bika, the man's a real tough fighter. But I'm not sure I'd bump him to B-level quite yet. I think A-level is for the real P4P elite, B-level is for your top-eight, top-ten, and so forth is C-level.

So actually, if you say Bika is B-level, I wouldn't argue. He can be a thrill to watch.

Thinking about it, this fight would be a real danger to Miranda; Bika is a very strong Super Middleweight- Miranda doesn't really have much experience there. :good

Indeed. You'd think that overall everyone would be happier with broadcasting boxing on one of those network channels.

I think it's the promoters greed and the networks reluctance, what, with todays poor boxing news coverage.

I think Bika is definitely not less than B-...no way is he lower than that...assuming Bute is B, Kessler B+/A- and Calzaghe A.

    Anyway...Miranda isn't better than Bika.:nono

I agree, the last boxing match I seen on ABC or NBC was one of the Holyfield/Ruiz fights, since then nothing. I wish boxing would come back to the forefront, if you want to get peoples attention again, you need to bred there fighters to come out with more personality in interviews and during the weigh-in and what not. The average guy wants to see knockouts and personality in there fighters, thats why guys like Golota and Tyson still have such a strong following, when there in the ring or during a press confrence, you never know what they will say or do, that's what missing, and the popularity of the sport is suffering partly because of that.

I see it the other way around. I see Miranda hurting Bika seriously, because Bika will not stop. I think Miranda has legit 168 KO power.

Miranda/Bika looks like a WAR to me. It would be good for boxing, good for Showtime, and it would be so entertaining that the winner would get a huge boost in popularity. On a side note, I cannot for the life of me understand why ESPN doesn't bump up their budget and put this type of thing on Friday Night Fights.

Because ESPN would rather waste money on those lame ass ESPN classic movies they produce.

I'm betting the problem with getting boxing on the modern networks, especially the big freebies, is commercial time. No matter how they try to cut it unless say every 3 rounds you have a break of 3 minutes to the next bell to allow for big long ass commercials, it'll never happen again.

Just For Men Hair Color must pay ESPN out the ass, think of FNF, between every other round you get 45 sec - 1 min hair color commercial, and that's all. KFC kicks in I think for Atlas's fight plan. But it's has to be like always, and have to do with nothing more than Money $$.

College and Pro football and basketball games now have long ass "sponsor" time outs for commercials. Unless boxing can find a way to give the commercials that air time, what can we do??

Seems to me that would just drive up the price of a 30 second spot between rounds. Can't forget that with the bluescreen tech, they can also advertise on the ring floor and the turn buckles, they do this with baseball.

Fine points Dave. From there I would guess that the #'s would have to be proven to be high, to attract potential bidders for the 30 second slots.

But hell, if they put on the good fights and for free, it shouldn't take too long before the 30 second slots would be as valuable as say, Super Bowl Commercial time, etc..

Regarding the question of violence, etc.. How many football games do you really see these days, College or Pro that some one isn't carted off the field with some sort of fairly serious injury?? Not many.

You make me a little curious Pantera. Do you know something we don't?
