This fight shows Valero built up his KO record on tomato cans. He is not a devastating puncher at all. He hit Demarco with everything and Demarco didn't budge. Freitas once had an impressive perfect KO streak as well, and we eventually found out how much a puncher he really was, just like we're finding out now about Valero.

Demarco had a **** poor game plan. He had the tools to outbox Valero from the outset, but in the end he tired out and quit on his stool without even being seriously hurt.

Valero is still wild and raw with his punches. Eventually he is going to run into a good boxer that will take advantage and box circles around him.

    He's not a devastating puncher at 135 , no.

Like Freitas, however - he's still a pretty damn good fighter to pummel the chutzpah out of a warrior like DeMarco without much natural lightweight pop.

You don't have to be a slugger to get into a slugfest.

I've seen Valero fight a lot. He takes what's given to him. If he's given a slugfest, he'll slug it out. If he's given everything ala Demarco, he'll do what he did tonight although he looked MUCH smoother tonight.

I think against Katsidis, as soon as the fists start flying, it'd be on like a pot o' neckbones.

    Freitas is an interesting comparison.

His non stop punching reminded me of Juan Diaz with more pop...but he's probably levels above Diaz in the whole head movement regard.

I think he can still KO guys, even at this weight.

He fought a tough, natural 135 pounder, so you have to give him a little slack. Let him get a bit more accustomed to the weight and I think his power will be more evident.

whatever man... you didn't get my point. :hi:

JMM is special alright no arguing bout that but the guy is old... you can't expect the same JMM who fought pac to show at this time.

I think Katsidis gets knocked out. An ancient Casamayor knocked him down in the 1st round twice and then brutally KO'd him in the 10th.

Casamayor is a better fighter than Valero but I doubt he is a bigger puncher.

Great fight Valero showed depth in the fight and De Marco has a great chin. I don't think anybody predicted the fight would come out like it did. Valero moves up on the P4P list for sure!

We may see a Pac Valero fight soon as Valero has stated that he has a clause in his contract that Pac has to fight him before retiring.

    Valero is not Pac.
