They've changed the date for the Froch-Kessler fight after it had already been anounced for the 17th to the 24th. A lot of people had bought flight tickets, paid for hotels and booked time of work. Now a lot of Froch are out of pocket and feel slightly miffed.

It well and truly sucks, but the venue was only just decided this week and booking a plain ticket without knowing the venue when the fight date had already been moved once. I mean I wouldn't do that.

I still think that Sauerland should have communicated more clearly that:

    1) The venue hadn't been decided on and
    2) The date was not set in stone.

I really feel for the fans who have already booked flight and hotels.

If Showtime claims this their star event and they had their date first, why would they cut bait and run-for Pavlik? If they truly believed their event was superior why do they allow HBO to get all the headlines.
They just don't believe their product is good enough when compared to HBO's,I guess.

was there ever an official press release announcing the date and site? If not, i don't have a whole lot of sympathy. You need to wait until it's official.

Even so, i'm not understanding the huge out of pocket $ lost by the fans. Most of the time when you book a hotel, you pay when you check out. Sometimes you have to put a refundable deposit down at the time of booking.
At least in the US, you should be able to cancel the hotel reservation for a full refund.

As far as the flight, wouldn't you just have to pay a fee to change the dates? Over here it's $100-$150 to change flight dates.

Now if you booked the flight and hotel together through a site such as expedia or an agency over there, where you pay for everything up front, then you might run into some issues, and maybe it's not possible to get refunds. That would suck. When i'm making travel plans for boxing, i like to book my flights and hotel separately because of this reason. Things happen in boxing.

I heard that April 17th was the only reasonable date where Bute/Interbox could book the Bell Center. In addition, Arum and Team Pavlik wanted KP back in the ring as soon as possible, no later than mid April. These factors played a roll in the choice of the April 17th date.

Only two a day I understand, and neither connects with the two flights a day from Stansted

Don't worry public transportation in Denmark usually take big events into consideration when planning their schedules.

Yes it was officially announced by both Showtime and Hennesey sports as the 17th April just no confirmed venue, but that it was in Denmark. It was Hennesey sports website for 2 months, I even got a facebook message off Showtime to confirm the date and telling me to book flights.

Also the fee to change flights costs more than I paid for the flights, not good when your on a budget.
