I'm not really a fan of either silva or sonnen...but you gotta admit...that was a quality fight. Anderson pulled a Nogueira (if you know what i mean)...
I would not have guessed that Silva had that cardio or that heart. If it wasn't for being tough then most fighters would have mentally and physically given in after rd2 at most.
Firstly thank God that Sonnen lost. I mean after the hype and the excitemen of this rather special fight, who the hell would rather watch Sonnen defend the middleweight title over Silva. I'll take the skills of the dancing destroyer, over yet another wrestling cardio grunt any day.
Sonnen was more exciting in those 4 1/2 rounds than Silva has been in his past few fights combined, so this "cardio grunt" bull**** is, well, bull****. He beat the holy hell out of him, he didn't blanket him. I'd rather see somebody absolutely destroying a guy from guard than dancing backwards and feinting all round.
If someone was to walk into a police station and say " a guy has beaten the holy hell out of me". Would it not be reasonable of them to enquire why there's not a single mark on his face?
props to silva for winning the fight and showing respect to the guys who dominated him for 4 1/2 rounds. the guy has insane chin...
