Outstanding fight and brilliant performance from Khan ... maybe all the Khan haters will go away or at least admit they were wrong ... Dues to maidana as well he never stopped despite feeling the pain in the first ... that was some night of boxing ! ..the card from liverpool was really good - deGale stole the show but full creds too Bellew who dug deep in a ******* ... superb stuff ! ..oh and won £400 on a £500 treble Burns , DeGale and Khan so all good :good
still big holes in his game. after the prescott fight it looked a lost cause. he's done terrific since then. definitely advise him to stick around at 140 for the forseeable future. hate to think what someone like andre berto would do to him. :dead atsch
Yup but hes only 24 ... and that fight last night was special ! Agree totally to stay at 140 theres a few good match up there and maybe in another 4 to 5 years look at 147 as he develops his size n strength... He took some big shots and in the 10th if Maidana had followed up it could have been goodbye but Amir showed a bit of Bolton grit and hung in there ... im sure Freddie wasnt pleased he kept getting dragged into maidanas type of fight but hes still young and learning this game ...
fortunately 140 isn't exceptional at the moment. just a decent division. welterweight is a murderers row of a division. :roll: tim bradley, devon alexander, victor ortiz, kendall holt, etc. good fighters but nothing exceptional.
I could see a fight in the UK in 2011 against McCloskey before venturing back over the pond for the winner of Bradley and Alexander ...then possible if JMM is still fighting fit then that would be a good fight .. even JMM over ere around easter time would be great :good...ever the eternal optimist !
Warren is still garbage. Afraid to get his prize fighters out of the domestic level unless he is 100% sure they will succeed at the world level.
It always seems that way when the best fight the best--unfortunately it doesn't happen that much. When you had all sorts of upsets going on in the Super Six you would think there isn't one great fighter in that division. Well actually, when all the best guys fight each other, there are upsets and interesting clash of styles. That is all.
