Jose Napoles really stands out, as does '76-'80 Wilfredo Gomez.

Gene Tunney. Nearly perfect balance, always preparred to go on offence or defence.

The only time Rocky Marciano deserves mention would be in the Archie Moore fight.

But I suppose when you're awkward and clumsy looking and not that fast that offense-defense mix doesn't seem to flow seamlessly. But it's there.

I really wanted to just post Arthur Abraham, Joshua Clottey, and Andreas Kotelnik and post clips but I refrained.

Maybe Carmen Basilio as a mention? Or is he too ponderous and purposeful to mention.

Probably not lol. I've never seen someone make a prime RJJ miss as much as he did.

Jimmy Wilde. Slips very well and is always in a position to hit.

if you are talking about guys who can seamlessly go from offense to defense fighting in a phone booth - and the vice versa - I'd say Duran and Jung-koo Chang are the two best in my lifetime. Both put tremendous pressure on you while still remaining an incredibly elusive target. I'd consider Toney, if his hands were more consistently active, but he wasn't. Sanchez may be the next tier?

Edit: Tyson, too, but with many qualifications and tenatively.

This is an excellent distinction with Leonard as an illustration.

Willie Pep - renowned for his defence and not enough about his offensive brilliance, some of the counters he throws and some of his combination punching combined with his footwork are chef's kiss

Peak Mike Tyson is a great example. See the Pinklon Thomas fight.

Peak Canelo vs GGG 2 is another great example.

Among modern fighters Roman Gonzalez is the best at this surprised no one mentioned him (he needs more love around here)
