In the last 2 1/2 years, Quinton has failed to register a stoppage, winning boring and unimpressive points decisions over B/C class fighters in Jardine and Hamill, being given a gift decision while achieving nothing against a gunshy Machida, and losing a boring decision to the equally toothless Rashad Evans.


And now he may get a shot at the title???

I understand there is a dearth of possible contenders, but this seems to be a ****-weak last 2 1/2 years of combat, not deserving of number 1 contender status at all.

 

He has the name recognition behind him, and like it or not, he won that fight against Machida.

 

Machida clearly won the fight.

I understand he has the name recognition which will help sell the event, but the guy hasn't looked impressive nor registered a stoppage for 2 1/2 years. Seems a pretty flimsy basis for a title shot.

 

What fight did you watch?
Even rampage said that he felt he lost the fight

Has rashad been more exciting to watch?
The last exciting fight he was in was the one vs machida and we all saw how that turned out

That fight is a perfect example of how the 10-point-must system doesn't work in a 3 round fight.


And in addition to his name, there is also the cluster**** at the top of the 205ers.

 

Evans is even more boring and only slightly more deserving than Rampage. The only reason I don't oppose a Jones-Evans fight is because I am 1000% confident that Evans gets rolled up into a ball and farted back out the cage within 90 seconds.

I'm pretty bored of Rampage actually. He's either not focused or he's rusty or he's injured or he had to cut too much weight, blah blah blah. The fact is the guy has lost it now, and he's not regaining it. He's a toothless decision-fighter who is boring and one-dimensional, a far cry from the beast we knew in Pride.

 

I was really surprised that he didn't go for the finish against Hamill. Hamill was no threat to him at all and for a guy at his level to be in a fight where he only has to worry about offense is really rare. Dumb move on his part.

 

When Rampage cant finish Hamill, you know its over, pure and simple.

 

Exactly. He isn't Rampage anymore, from now on he should just be called Quinton Jackson.

 

Well he'll get the shot at JJ, take way to much punishment for his own good and hopefully retire
