That's a good point, I didn't think of that. Honestly though, I wouldn't think anyone, including Ward, cares that much what their seed is as much as long as they're in the semi's. I mean it's not like it's the NCAA tournament, where having a #1 seed is a huge advantage. There's only four guys and they are all pretty evenly matched. It's a good question though in that I think Ward would wind up fighting Dirrell in the semi's which he clearly would prefer not to do. I say this because I expect Abraham to KO Froch and get the 1 seed with 6 points, which will leave Froch with 2 points and the 4 seed and a rematch in the semi's. I certainly expect Dirrell to either KO or UD Green which will result in him having 4 (or 5) points which will result in him either taking the 2 or 3 seed with Ward getting the other and them fighting in in the semi's. So maybe your right. I think a good question would be where the semi's are held. If the higher seed gets to have to home advantage than I think that would certainly effect things and effect how much Ward cares about being the higher seed.
Showtime claimed they had considered all potential problems in advance of this tourney.Let's wait and see what their alternative plans were.
I dont think he will. The last time he had a long layoff it didnt do him any good, this time is even worse I think. I belive he is retired, they just dont want to say it now.
Didn't thought of that but now that you said it ...it sounds rly plausible . I always thought he will retire if he won the super6 without fighting Bute or a light havy .
Or, maybe we can just make the upcoming Abraham/Froch semi-final 1, and Ward/Dirrell semi-final 2. And as bad as it may sound, Green hasn't got much to offer so maybe he can be paid to go home? It'll get things moving a lot quicker, and save us watching Ward/Froch/Abraham/Dirrell fight each other twice over. We all know that these guys are going to be the semi-finalists anyway, so why not advance them all through now.
I completely disagree with this. A fight with Dirrell v Green would mess up the schedules amd why should Dirrell have to fight one more fight then Froch or Abraham? Especially since he beat Abraham. Green clearly is well below the other 5 boxers. What should happen here is that Green is paid off and promised a shot at Kessler when he gets back. The winner of the fight, fights the winner of the Super 6. Green in the meantime can take a tune up fight. In the meantime Ward v Dirrell for the WBA belt in one semi and Froch v Abraham for the WBC belt in the other. The winners then fight for the lot. It's not perfect but it's better then the above idea.
Adding I would postpone the semi's until the new year. Then the night of the final have a double header with Kessler v Green as the prelude to the main event..
I like the idea. Ward got his easy fight with Green. Dirrell deserves one too IMO. Especially since I had him winning handily vs Froch (8-4).
This guy is ducking the rest of the tourney and then expects a good payday against the winner. He knows he stands almost zero chance to win the tourney as Ward will deliver another one sided beat down if they meet again.
Sure Dirrel deserve to ... yeah he does ... he rly does . You know he prove it in the Froch fight. He rly fought like he wanted the title. I think he thought Froch was wearing the belt on his waist cuz he was hugging him like crazy probably trying to take it away. And he prove it with that amazing 1 win in the tournament when he was miming a fish on dry land. Then he was saing what a fish would have if he had the ability to talk : Let me breathe yo!! Let me breathe dawg . All that after being KO'ed and sudden had a memory loss.
Chicken**** won't be wanting to fight one of the best for a place on the final.True It probably goes for Ward to ... he will prefer one that he can UD easier since he is pillow-fisted
