Its embarrassing that a sport news station like ESPN resorts to the likes of Skip Bayless to talk boxing. Bayless does'nt know anything about boxing, even a non-fight fan could pick that out. Its embarrassing to even sit here and listen to those goons debate on a subject they know nothing about. I'd parrallel it to the cast of Jersey shore debating politics.:nut
Skip really don't know too much about boxing...so his opinion should really be anyone's first choice in getting their boxing education or insight. How ever.....he makes a few "COMMON SENSE" observations that any donkey could see. PAC and Floyd are both in charge which means NO ONE SIDE is in position to dictate ALL the terms of their potential fight. It has to be a joint effort where both Manny and Floyd agree to the terms....If they can't sit down and hash out the details of their fight....it will never happen. Anyone who can't see that are too far up Manny or Floyd's ass to accept common sense.
BUT the thing is, they already did that the first time around. Floyd is just taking the same things BOTH teams already agreed upon and using it for this time around. They were supposed to fight in May 2010, but switched to March only because of Pac's election. I think we can all assume that Arum knew Cinco De Mayo would have been the perfect time for this fight to happen before Floyd picked it.
Both teams did not agree on venue or date....the only thing they did agree on was purse and Floyd's drug tests. When Bob went out and gave Floyd his ultimatum where Bob dictated the date and venue we saw how well that worked in making the fight reality. Just becuase it's now Floyd pulling a "Bob" doesn't mean the outcome will be any different. ****'s still **** even if it's wrapped up in a nice, pretty box. Cinco De Mayo is in no way the perfect time for a PAC/FLoyd fight. It's a great date for JMM/PAC or DLH/Floyd or any other Mexican/latin superstar as that's a HUGE revenue generator for the latino market place. This fight needs ample time to be promoted accordingly. The fight already has buzz and would do great numbers without being properly promoted.... But can you imagine what this event would do with a beast of a promotional machine behind it? The sky's the limit and no one who has any pull in putting this event together are dumb enough to NOT go through the proper channels to put this fight on in a way that produces maximum revenue.
Skip Bayless has at least united Pacquiao fans. After the Marquez debacle, they were so quiet, hurt, humbled and pissed. Hilarious. Glad you're back in ******* mode ***gots.
