I don't know if he could. There doesn't seem to be that much genuine interest in her (not enough to justify a PPV), imo even at a tenner it would do poor numbers. It is just Hearn doing it for the PR.
Said this when she was announced. She was significantly better looking than the bird getting the fight for her looks
If they want people to engage more in Women’s boxing then they need to make it 3 minute rounds. That way you would get more stoppages. They are less likely to bingo each other with one shot but they can get the stoppages with accumulative shots. Unfortunately, by the time they get their opponent going it’s the end of the round.
The real issue with a Katie Taylor PPV is that we all know it is going to happen and we all know after it she will be classed as a PPV star, only fighting on PPV and the casuals will lap it up pudding after pudding. Cometh the man cometh the PPV mug.
Never really convinced by this argument, but I guess we’ll find out when they start going 3 minute rounds, which will happen at some point. I don’t think it’s the round length that necessarily causes this lack of stoppages, I think it’s more down to the lack of ability and power to ‘finish someone off’ rather than the lack of time. We’ve seen loads of examples over the past year where jobbers have looked on the verge of stoppage but just keep hanging in round after round as their opponent gasses a bit. If anything, I prefer two minute rounds as it gets it done sooner!
Me neither. Call me old fashioned if you want but I just don't really like watching two women fight. I respect them as athletes of course, but just doesn't feel right.
Sums my feelings up pretty well... Fair play to them like.. It just doesn't really entertain me... And you don't see many koswhich takes an element out of it as well... I don't need to see massive kos.. But knowing they aren't coming and your getting a points win for the home fight or a shitty ref stoppage.. Its boring
