You make teaching Khan defence and a shoulder roll sound easy PK, he is not an intelligent fighter, never has been, never will be, no trainer in the world can teach someone skills that is not capable of learning them.

What exactly has Hunter done? He's been training fighters for a long time and he's had one good fighter, Ward. Look at someone like Garcia. He's been training for a lot less than Hunter has yet look at how many world champions and excellent fighters he has worked with. Hunter has trained fighters for ages yet his success has relied solely on one exceptional fighter. What else has he done? **** all.

Ward, by the way, would be a world champion with many other trainers, though that point shouldn't need to be made.

And you expose your ignorance with the comment about Mayweather because that's the whole point. He took a rugged, raw beast of a fighter in Angulo and tried to refine him. Why? He made Angulo work to a slower pace, more methodical and when he was doing that, Angulo looked like ****. Hunter worked to Angulo's weaknesses, not strengths, and that's why he's a horrible match for the Mexican.

What did Angulo do when he worked with a far better trainer than Hunter, Beristain? Did Beristain try to make him a counter puncher, like Marquez? No. He worked to Angulo's strengths and it worked. Thats what a good trainer does. Hunter didn't. The only success Angulo had last night was when he reverted to his old style and fought, ignoring the stupid tactics clearly given to him.

Aside from all that, the ignorance he showed when asked about strength and conditioning was laughable. Is being stubborn and close minded a good thing now? He's also a hypocrite, by the way, since he told Khan to not work with a strength coach, yet he has allowed Ward to work with Conte.

If you want to believe the hype, go ahead. I'll remind you of this when Khan gets knocked out, blames Hunter and you take it as gospel.

Its not about being intelligent..? Its about having the motor skills, Amir Khan has the motor skills. Somebody like George Foreman..? have you heard him speak, he is really intelligent, even when commentating on fights. George Foreman seemed to perceive situations and pick up on things, other pundits did not.

But..? He did not have the motor skills, to fight like he talked.

Amir Khan physically is a gifted co-ordinated athlete. He can move, throw combinations, it won't be hard for him through repetition to learn how to shoulder roll and improve his defence.

His instincts are to attack, not to preceive whats going to happen next or set traps like Hopkins & Mayweather but..? He can be taught afew new tricks, he's not a total ******, and like i stated before physically/motor skill wise he is gifted.

He's never going to have that calculated mindset, like a snooker player! who see's three shots ahead of the game! Fighters like Hopkins, Mayweather, Ward even Roy Jones had these metaphysical capabilities.

So you are right he is not a thinking fighter, but..? that's not his game anyway.

Hunter is already saying there is a lot of work to do.I actually think he was worried about Khan still being wide open and riddled with bad habits and made sure he got it out there as an insurance policy.

I see your angle and viewpoint and can respect that, but forgetting Khans defensive obvious flaws, another one is his lack of power, he does not punch hard enough to deter certain fighters from trying to get into range.

With certain fighters you need to gain their respect, make them think twice from getting into your punching range, Khan does not have this ability.

Unless you slow him right down and tell him to sit down on and pick his punches, he will never be a puncher and even if you did manage it, you take away his speed.

    Its a no win situation.

Amir Khan hits hard enough to gain respect.

And if fighters don't respect his punching ability..? This could be their downfall.........Amir Khan is a fast accurate puncher, and if he hits a so called tough guy..? With a shot he cannot see.

    Its going to hurt them.

I'm not so sure, I think some fighters of the weaker mentality are overawed of his speed more than his power.

Khan has never been a puncher, his style does not allow it.

One of Khan's biggest problems (which doesn't get much airtime) is his lack of power.

Lacking power isn't the be and and end all..... But the problem with Khan is he fights as if he has one punch KO power.

That's the reason he fights the way he does, because he truly believes he can blast away any opponent. Why bother with defence when you have so much speed and power?? That's how his mind seems to work, and that's his downfall.

He's not concerned about getting into a gun fight because he thinks he'll always come out on top.

He's gorged himself on to many British stoppages & surrounded himself with to many yes men I doubt he'll ever change.

    Actually i agree..

Some of the shots he landed on Garcia, just image if pound for pound he had David Haye level power.

Amir Khan would probably win ever fight by KO! Because no matter who he has faced, he has always been able to land shots.

He's always fast enough, and accurate enough to get his shots off.

Amir Khan hits hard enough to hurt a guy, but not to snatch his body.

But the again Floyd Mayweather also is not a big puncher! Its not the end of the world.

We are not really comparing apples with apples are we?...

Mayweather understand his strengths & his weaknesses, Knan doesn't.
