In Khan's case your confusing a rubbish defense with a Glass Jaw. Against Prescott maybe, but to be fair Prescott is a hard puncher and Khan was caught cold while being weight drained. Against Maidana he took a number of bombs which stopped Ortiz and 90% of other fighters Maidana has faced. Ortiz doesnt have a bad chin. Against Garcia, he took Garcia's best left hook a few times and still got up, he actually took Garcia's punches better than Eric Morales did..and he's got one of the best chins ever! It's Khan's defense which is the issue becuase he blocks with his chin! He's got too much bravado for his own good and runs in with his chin in the air, and if you fight like that you'll always end up KO's by top level opponents.

No, most people aren't conditioned to go twelve rounds, or conditioned to take a punch.

Their reaction to getting punched would probably be to lay down, Amir Khans reaction to getting punched is throwing back, but his legs are completely gone.

His chin is dreadful, you're very right.
Average joes aren't conditioned to taking punches, you're right.

Maidana would finish most guys in the streets with one overhand right, yes.

I think Khan takes an overhand right better than he takes a left hook, much like other fighters have their sweet spot right on top of the temple (Roy Jones).

If Maidana could place his shots, Khan would've been out of there, make no mistake about it.

Maidana's unplaced shots have KO'd 90% of his opponents. Come on man be honest... he took a load of Maidana's shots flush!

    I agree.

But I do find it hard to respect drugs cheats like Roid Jones Jr and shameless duckers like Deontay "Windmiller" Wilder.

Anybody who ducks an opponent because they know they'd lose or, relies on PEDs gets 0 respect from me. Incidently, Roid Jones Jr did both... which is why I continue to slate him on this site.

i'd like to hear your argument about roy jones "ducking", and I hope you're not going to give me a list of fringe European contenders who did absolutely nothing to get a US profile and make their fight with the P4P king happen
