What if the first Julio Cesar Chavez/Meldrick Taylor fight is allowed to contunue? the scores would be 115-112, 112-115 and 116-111 for Taylor.
Do they rematch right away who wins? what long term effects would it have on their careers?

 

All good points, except I will make one comment on Klitschko vs Sanders. Wlad's people tried for months to get a worthy opponent in the ring for a decent matchup. It was only after 10 fighters had rejected the offer, that Corrie Sanders was approached with the opportunity. Had E-Steward been on Wlad's payroll, I'm not sure if it would have changed this fight happening. It is possible though that Wlad may have fought differently against Sanders though.

 

I'll say they have a rematch within a year and Chavez wins.

While people exaggerate how much Taylor was ruined from that fight alone, it's true that Taylor wasn't the same after that fight.

One person who is surely not complaining about the stoppage is Frankie Randall.

 

Taylor stays at 140, which makes a huge difference. He'd probably defend against Chavez in a rematch, there was plenty of money in that option and Don King would definently want it. Who knows who wins the rematch.

 

1967 Liston gets invited to WBA tournament, wins it, then instead of Jimmy Ellis fighting Joe, Sonny proceeds to bounce Frazier off the canvas ala Foreman.

Ali returns in 1970, Liston says "frap this"...and retires.

 

This could mean no Ali/Frazir fights which would mean while Ali would still be as popular as he is he wouldn't be ratted as high as he is now.
